The Coolest Club You Never Wanted To Be A Part Of

I have been listening to the podcast since my diagnosis in late 2018. Back then I had just started my Psychology MSc and being diagnosed at 25 felt so surreal.

You guys really helped me through it all, and over the years made me even more aware of how important research is. So 2020 was very much the year for me where I put all my energy and efforts together to get myself a PhD position in a cancer-related topic**. I am very much doing this to honour all of us and to honour everyone else who might have the misfortune to end up in the coolest-club-you-never-wanted-be-a-part-of.

Nothing has ever felt so right.

I wouldn’t have dreamed about doing this if it wasn’t for you talking about cancer so openly, so heartfelt and with so many great people on the podcast sharing their stories and knowledge.

So thanks You, Me and the Big C -Team for helping me see the bigger picture. You are all absolutely fantastic!

Hope you had a lovely Merry Christmas and I can’t wait for new episodes in 2021!

**For all the geeks - I will be researching cancer preventive behaviour in cancer patients and their family members - in a prehab/rehab cancer surgery context (especially focusing on bowel cancer and gynaecological cancers)

My wing men

I was recommended to listen to this podcast. I can’t even begin to say how much it’s helped me. I listen on the way home from work in the car. They have helped with my understanding of cancer terminology the professionals use. Quite frankly it frighten the poor beJesus out of you ! They let you know its ok to have a meltdown and ask more questions and help fight your corner
My husband got diagnosed with a rare cancer stage 4 at the start of lockdown. Which very much leaves you on your own . This podcast has managed to give me the mindset to hope for the best prepare for the worst.

Love this podcast

Love the podcast and all it’s different topics some are applicable to me and some aren’t. The most recent surrogacy one has been the best as that’s exactly what I’m going through right now. You can always rely on feeling like part of the family when you hear them chatting to each other. Thanks for all the hard work.
