Engaged since day 1, now on day 321 and still looking forward every day!
I started on January 1st 2021 with a friend from our prayer group. It has been the easiest way to go through the whole bible. Not only is it covered completely, it has been read to us by Fr. Mike Schmitz with great enthusiasm and explained so clearly and in a very relatable way and in short sessions all under 30 minutes. Every day, after the reading, Fr. Mike makes a short prayer, all have been really heart felt and he asks us to pray for each other every day, so we have been doing so for almost a year!
I tried to read the whole bible many times before and although I had covered most of it, I didn’t see the connections between the old and the New Testament, and most of the books I couldn’t put into context. Jeff Cavins and Fr. Mike´s introductions to the different times in the Bible have been really enlightening.
As a plus, this podcast has created the habit in us to study the Bible every day… I will do it again in Spanish next year.
Before I used to look at the Bible as this thick book with so many unfamiliar and unrelated names and places that were hard to imagine. Now I am familiar with all the books and now I even have a sense of the places and why thing took place there, it is really incredible!! Thank you Ascension Presents for this amazing gift for us in 2021! I am praying for you!
