Radiothon | #Flourish – Show #325 (part 2), 2 June 2024
This year’s theme for JOY’s annual Radiothon is ‘Flourish’, and Katie asks her listeners to give generously to keep Australia’s only independent rainbow community media organisation flourishing! Out and proud local singer-songwriter Michael Waugh joins Katie and members of the Miss Chat crew in the studio to talk about why it’s important to support JOY and how JOY helped in their various comings-out. Katie also shares her reasons for volunteering at JOY, which include the station’s positive depictions of queer people and diversity of on-air voices. Michael tells the stories behind two of his new songs and performs the powerful and moving ‘Fix Me’ live in the studio (check out the Instagram video here). Here is the playlist:
