Hello, this is Dev, and Im here to introduce you to ‘Devin Townsend Podcast’ - A monthly series of observations about the process of writing and creating music.
This new version of the podcast will shift focus slightly and move on from simply talking about my past records, and instead focus on a real time observation of the next ones. I have a fair amount of experience to offer, however rather than trying to come across as some sort of a 'self help' character, I feel that theres enough people asking me how those experiences have shaped my writing that this seemed to be an angle to get behind, and in our tiny little scene, it seems like there was actually space for it. So here we go.
This will evolve into interviews with the people involved, and glimpses behind the scenes of it all. In the past, this part of the journey has been kept under wraps, but after years of being asked for advice and upon being offered a platform to speak, this seemed like the one thing I am actually 'qualified' to speak about.

Episode 6 is with an artist named Blindboy out of Ireland who has created some of my favorite content over the past few years. From his band ‘The Rubberbandits’ to his numerous tv shows, podcast and books, he’s a great hang and unafraid to investigate the same sort of stuff I like to think about. Episode 2 - Steve Vai
For the second episode, I am attempting the process of interviewing someone else about their process and seeing how they navigate the same stumbling blocks we all do. Steve Vai was the obvious guest based on our history and my relationship with him. If this works, I may attempt to interview other artists I know about this topic in hopes it can shed some light on your own experiences.
