David works in IT Services as an IT Analyst in Data Services. David has played a vital role in the creation of the UCC Data Hub. While David’s day job is data, he is also a very successful musician. David is a multi-instrumentalist and is best known for playing the pedal steel guitar. As well as contributing to records across a range of genres, David has completed tours of Ireland, UK, Europe and U.S.A. as well as performing on live national radio and television.
In this episode we chat to David about his career in IT but also his career in music and how he uncovered his love and talent for playing the pedal steel guitar. He also shares stories of playing in venues from St. Luke’s in Cork to Alexandra Palace in London. We talk about technology and how it can enable music particularly musical collaborations.
