Hello and welcome to ITBytes, UCC IT Services first official podcast. The podcast is hosted by IT Services staff members, Noelette Hurley and Deirdre Keane. Noelette works as an IT Analyst while Deirdre is kept busy as our Communications Coordinator. In this episode they chat to Rosie Coffey. Rosie leads up the Enterprise Solutions team in IT Services. In this episode Rosie chats about her work as part of the National Cyber Security Awareness Task Force to tackle the growing problem of technology in gender-based crime. * We advise listener discretion with this episode as some listeners might find some of the content triggering, topics such as image-based abuse, impersonation, and harassment are discussed. *
While the conversation is of a serious nature, it is remarkable the drive, commitment and positive change Rosie, colleagues across UCC, National Cyber Security Awareness Task Force and beyond are making. This team of people are creating awareness to help others to recognise the signs of technology facilitated abuse and what a person can do to help themselves or somebody they know.
