The yoik is not about something; it is that something, it’s a living image. The yoik is otherworldly. Yoik is a philosophy. It’s a way of travelling, into the northern lights, connecting with nature and the soul of another person.

Young Sámi artists are currently bringing new life to one of Europe’s oldest song traditions, and this a short introduction to some of them.
