    Today’s Kerry’s Eye news paper reports that Tralee Racecourse at Ballybeggan has sold for a figure understood to around €5 million. Journalist Majella O’Sullivan broke the story.

    Yesterday, Deputy Danny Healy-Rae alleged that the Government had lost control on migration and he also targeted his ire against Ukrainian refugees, some of whom he claimed were driving ‘flashy SUVs and high-powered cars’ amid other claims. Jerry played audio of some of Deputy Healy-Rae’s speech in the Dáil which he addressed to the Taoiseach. He got a response from Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin. Deputy Griffin is also a member of the Oireachtas Media Committee so Jerry also quizzed him about new revelations this week about RTÉ.

    Maurice O’Connell is a great great great grandnephew of Daniel O’Connell, one of the greatest Irish people of all time. There are many streets in Ireland named after Maurice’s ancestor – the most famous, of course, is Dublin’s main thoroughfare. But in recent years, Dublin’s O’Connell Street has become synonymous with open drug-dealing and other forms of anti-social behaviour, and last November, was where most of the Dublin riot took place.
