1 Year Sobriety of my ED

1 Year Sobriety of my ED

Hello Beauties, my name is Sabri Skoda! Welcome & thank you for listening to my podcast, Living in the Devils Footsteps

Today's episode does have the same usual trigger warnings: eating disorders, suicide, suicide ideations, eating disorders, human sex trafficking, sexual assault, crimes against minors, drugging a minor, domestic violence & abuse, and addiction.

Today, I speak about my Eating Disorder and how it affected me throughout my life. December 3rd, 2022 was the day I finally decided to stop obsessing over eating & the way I saw food. I hold One Full Year of Sobriety OFF of my ED. Instead of forcing myself to not eat (anorexia) & forcing myself to throw up every time I felt I ate too much (bulimia); I choose to control the way I treat my body.. positively.

I now eat healthy.. maybe too healthy - my doctor says, but I also contain regular physical activity. Going to the gym has been a blessing to me because it saved my eating disorder & made me truly focus on what my body needs to stay in good shape & good health. I do this without obsessing over the way I look because I am beautiful the way I am (JUST LIKE YOU)! With implementing healthy habits, I am now proud of how my body is because I'm in control of my body, with healthy exercise; weight lifting, HIIT, cross training, cardio & yoga/stretching.

I know that I have spoken about my eating disorder before, but not into such great detail.

Three Years of Sobriety // 16

Three Years of Sobriety // 16

It’s my 3 year anniversary of sobriety, so thank you for tuning into todays podcast.

Today I go into some of my experiences during addiction, the struggles and how I turned those struggles into my strength. Addiction is a disease, just like other diseases. You may not notice physically but mentally it destroys you from the inside-out. If you last, you will start to notice the signs from the outside. Addiction impacts your life. Addiction is hard to address, hard to get help for and hard to fix; as you can never fix it. Addiction lives with you for the rest of your life, 24/7, every second of your life.

I have been a drug addict since the age of 15/16 years old (not too sure because those years were a blur for me) to the age of 19.

Now, I can say that I am successfully able to refrain from drugs for 3 years on July 25th! Sobriety birthdays are bigger than an actual birthday because this is the day you were basically born back into that person you were prior, to all the toxins you put in your body.

There is hope for you & if you take a quick listen to my episode maybe you can get inspired and be motivated to get yourself the help you need, as well.

Never feel embarrassed or scared to ask for help, that is the only way I got through it and ended up where I am today, ALIVE & PRESENT.

Remember: trying to heal is difficult, you must become comfortable with the uncomfortable but it will be worth it, in the end. Help will only work, if you put in the same effort, if not more, than the support you receive.

Here are some resources if you or someone you love needs help:

-for Suicidal or Homicidal Ideations, please call 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline or text 988.

-for Domestic Violence, please call 1 (800) 799-7233 to reach the National Domestic Violence Hotline, or you may text START to 88788.

-for Human Trafficking, please call 1 (888) 373-7888 to reach the National Human Trafficking Hotline, or you may text "HELP" or "INFO" to 233733.

-for Alcohol or Substance Abuse, please call SAMHSA’s National Helpline, 1-800-662-4357 - Treatment Referral Routing Service

or call 1-800-487-4889  which is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders.

The Angel Has Your Back // 15

The Angel Has Your Back // 15

Thank you for listening to another podcast of, Living in the Devils Footsteps. It wouldn't have been possible to get this far, in my journey, if I hadn't started making these podcasts. It has been a huge step towards my healing and is the reason I am almost to 3 years of sobriety. I never thought people would step into my world and actually listen to my voice, but here I am. I started these podcasts, as a therapy tool, just like journal writing but instead, voice memos. I decided to upload these voice memos and actually take podcasting seriously, after the amazing feedback I was getting and so someone could hear my story, and become brave to conquer their own demons. I wasn't consistent, due to me taking my healing seriously; so I could be the best me, that I could be. Now I will be here every other week, until I am cleared for therapy every 3 weeks, since I'm finally at every other week, last month! Which has been only possible, through this pod. Channeling all my emotions on here, has been my life saver. Seeing the audience grow, is beautiful to see and I hope, as I am now more consistent, it will build back up, to what it used to be. So thank you thank you thank you, to you. You are a GEM.

Feel free to leave a 5 star rating (if that's what I deserve, for putting my heart and soul into your earphones) and so others: who may be struggling, may know someone struggling, or once were struggling themselves, can find that motivation within themselves to get help, find their passion or finally take a step forward to their next goal!

An Angel Who Got Out of Hell - Survivor Jose Alfaro // 13

An Angel Who Got Out of Hell - Survivor Jose Alfaro // 13

Today's story is a real survivor story, who was saved from enduring more hell, then a child should ever have to go through.
Jose Alfaro is a true inspiration to a lot of people, me being one of them.  Male sex trafficking stories are not often talked about, so this is why I wanted to share this empowering life experience. As I have been sex trafficked, it has been hard to continue life's realities after getting out of an environment where you are forced into things you never thought would happen. Listen to Jose's story, as it will bring awareness to human trafficking to not just females but mainly for males and the gay community. It is important for people to know that there are forces in life that you can't always control, but to be aware, may save your life or someone else's.
Spread awareness and share this podcast to your friends; so we keep everyone aware of the dangers that are out there, in this world.
TRIGGER WARNING: MAY INCLUDE ABUSE AGAINST CHILDREN, CHILDREN EXPLOITATION, SEX TRAFFICKING OF A MINOR, SEXUAL ABUSE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SUICIDE, SUBSTANCE USE.

From the Devils of Domestic Violence Pt. 3 // 12

TRIGGER WARNING! THIS PODCAST MAY INCLUDE TOPICS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, BEING DRUGGED AND BEING PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED; LISTENER DISCRETION IS HEAVILY ADVISED!
Hello! Thank you for listening to my personal story of Domestic Violence that recently happened to me. It has been tough healing through this new hardship but I am back. I would like to apologize for the time I have been away. Yes, my podcasts will now continue weekly once again and I will not leave you hanging from now on.
While we continue to want to grow, we choose the heal & as much as we choose the heal, the stronger we become, as humans. Sometimes, there are events in life that we do not have control over, so never blame yourself. Strength comes in all shapes, sizes, genders, races, financial status's, & beyond. I am here to lift you up when you feel hopeless, helpless or if you are just interested in learning more about what I have gone through and others experiences. Learning more about peoples trauma and experiences, you can learn to differentiate the signs and dodge as many of these situations as possible, but of-course some things are just inevitable.
For safety, download the app NOONLIGHT, which I talked about in my podcast. This is another self defense mechanism you can have, if you forget your taser or pepper spray or just want to double up on your life's protection. I definitely recommend this app, as it calls Emergency Dispatch straight to your location, in just a click of a button, without needing to talk to anyone. Save your life by downloading this app, you'll thank me later.

From the Devils Domestic Violence Footsteps Pt. 2 // 11

From the Devils Domestic Violence Footsteps Pt. 2 // 11

TRIGGER WARNINGS! DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, RAPE, BEING DRUGGED, SUICIDE, THOUGHTS OF SUICIDE, DRUG USE...
In today's podcast, I talk about specific events in my life, where I experienced domestic violence. I go into the depths of 3 different relationships, that caused me to be faced with this criminal act. I talk about the acts of which I was both mentally, emotionally and some of the physical violence that occurred in those relationships. I don't go into too much detail on the physical violences that took place because I, myself have not processed that in therapy yet. I do, though, talk about the physical violences that was brought on by sexual abuse and manipulative gas-lighting that caused some of it. This resulted in being drugged prior to the act of physical abuse and caused me to take my own life, via suicide or trying to hurt myself, to try to end my life. These boys who looked like men took advantage of the fact that i was under the influence, after most of them would drug me and would therefore use my body. Being a minor, my naiveness definitely clouded my judgement about them. I thought i was in love and i thought they loved me the same, but if someone loves you, they NEVER take advantage of you mentally, physically, emotionally nor sexually.
If you, or a loved one, even an acquaintance is under-going these violent criminal acts, please reach out to me or to the
