    On the Yamas and Niyamas, Yoga's Guiding Principles / Eps. 0 - OVERVIEW

    If you're a student of yoga (which, really, everyone is regardless of the number of years you've been practicing and or teaching), you would have heard of the Yamas and Niyamas.

    Our discussion on the Yamas and Niyamas will be in two parts (for each). There will be an academic discussion were we talk about the over-arching concepts. The purpose of this is to touch base on the intention of the subject and help deepen our understanding of it, as academic discussions go. It's meant to tease apart the subject and look at it from different angles, different points-of-view.

    The second part is implementation. We will go through different ways of practicing the Yamas and Niyamas in real-world, experience-based examples...mostly from my own life. The purpose of this is to ground the concepts in real world situations and share with you how I used them.

    When we go through the different Yamas and Niyamas in the next few weeks and there will be content for different audiences - blogs for readers, podcasts for listeners and to cap off this series, we will have a short course added to the Course Room.

    So, be here next week and we will start with Ahimsa.
