73: The FINAL - our top reoccurring themes

73: The FINAL - our top reoccurring themes

For the final episode of The Odd Reform Podcast we’re covering the concepts that we saw pop up over and over throughout most of the episodes. Addi and I first discuss the three negative themes that we need to avoid (auto-piloting, influence and pendulum swinging) and then jump into the the positive themes that we’d like o grow in (intentionally, community, discernment, and balance).

We’ve had an absolute blast chatting about all these topics and we hope you’ve enjoyed them and gleamed from them as well.

The podcast may be coming to an end but Odd Reform is very much alive. To stay in touch, follow us on Instagram @oddreform.

    Keep on thinking odd.

    72: "your truth" is bogus

    72: "your truth" is bogus

So if you haven’t heard by now, it has been three years since the start of the Odd Reform Podcast and after a ton of consideration and reflection, it's bittersweet to announce the podcast will be coming to an end. I’ve learned and grown so much, I hope you have too. But I’m also very excited for this new chapter. Odd reform is still very much alive and you can follow along and see what we’re up to on instagram @oddreform.
We still have a topic for today (our second to last episode), which is all about absolute truth versus “your truth” and how “your truth” is extremely problematic. Keep listening to hear Olivia and I break it down.

    71: the seduction of convenience

    71: the seduction of convenience

Today’s topic is one that has weaseled its way into every area of our lives and it can take over if we’re not careful. It’s the enticement of convenience. It’s so tempting and we all struggle with it even if we’re not aware. It makes life so easy, so much more efficient — but at what cost? That’s what Addi and I will be discussing today. We’ll look at tons of examples of where we can find it (a.k.a. pretty much everywhere) and it can be really overwhelming. Hence why we have spirals of thoughts because it’s embedded into every single thing we do. So prepare your self as we take a closer look.

    70: DON'T follow your heart

    70: DON'T follow your heart

Following your heart sounds like the sweetest cutest thing, but the heart is actually one of the most unreliable intuitions we have. It's today’s version of living your truth and really it's the pretty way of letting your emotions dictate your actions. In today’s episode Addi and I will break down even further what following your heart means, what can make it dangerous, what we should be doing instead and obviously not without a few tangents thrown in there.

69: New Year's resolutions: love OR hate them?

69: New Year's resolutions: love OR hate them?

Are you a fan of New Year's resolutions? If your answer is “yes", “no" or “I don’t care”, then this episode is for you. Olivia and I go into this episode blind meaning neither of us knew how the other felt about the topic until we started recording!

We have a blast chatting about what we don’t like about New Year's resolutions, why one of us loves them, why people fail at them and some tips on how people can actually have success with them.

SNEAK PEAK: we found out we have opposite opinions on the topic — take a listen to find out who loves them and who hates them!

    68: there are NO neutrals

    68: there are NO neutrals

It's officially our last podcast episode of the year (MERRY CHRISTMAS), so in light of that I wanted to chat about neutrals. And more specially why there’s no such thing as a neutral especially starting with our thoughts. Everything is either good or bad. And the better we can identify the good and the bad the easier time we have identifying and controlling what influences us. A neutral is just another way of saying “an influence”, because thats exactly what a neutral will do if we’re not careful.
We classify neutralities as “harmless”, “no big deal” “comfortable” to justify it. But we’re just digging ourselves a deeper hole.
Addi and I chat about what this looks like in real life — from childhood, to parenting, to the media and tons more.
Take a listen to hear it all.
