Welcome back to Murphy's Market Minute with Elliot. This week, we're diving deep into market insights, fresh economic articles, and the ever-elusive guest appearances from Rip.

We kick things off by exploring two fascinating articles, one detailing China's economic relationship with the U.S., and the other focusing on the resurgence of spending power within the American middle class.

Concluding, Elliott offers a refreshing perspective on media narratives, the importance of staying informed, and reading beyond just the headlines.

Murphy's Market Minute April 7th || Financial Recovery and New Bull Market Insights

Murphy's Market Minute April 7th || Financial Recovery and New Bull Market Insights

Welcome back to this week's edition of Murphy's Market Minute! In today's episode, Elliot discusses two seemingly contrasting articles, shedding light on the current state of financial health in the United States and examining the new bull market in stocks.

    ⏰ Time Stamps:
    00:00 - Introduction
00:30 - Article 1: Americans lost financial ground last year
01:31 - Cash reserve issues and consumer financial stress
02:41 - Bright spots: financial health improvement and inflation deceleration
04:17 - Change in narrative: positive counterpoints
04:54 - Article 2: The new bull market in stocks
    05:28 - Year-to-date market gains overview
    06:14 - Positive outlook for 2023

    Key Points:

📉 Article 1 highlights the decline in Americans' financial health in the past year, with fewer people having funds to cover six months of expenses and excellent credit scores. However, it also emphasizes the stabilization of financial health in recent months and an improving outlook.

📈 Article 2 focuses on the new bull market in stocks and presents a more positive narrative. Fundstrat believes that we are six months into the bull market, with several indices and funds showing significant year-to-date gains.

🔊 Elliot observes a shift in the overall narrative from predominantly negative to a more balanced approach, with positive counterpoints being presented. This change may indicate an improving analyst mood and overall market sentiment.

💡 Elliot concludes that the improving narrative and more positive outlook may contribute to a good year for portfolios, helping investors regain some of the losses experienced in the previous year.

Murphy's Market Minute March 10th | Update on the Market and a Special Guest

Murphy's Market Minute March 10th | Update on the Market and a Special Guest

    https://nypost.com/2023/03/05/a-bull-...

Welcome to this week's edition of Murphy's Market Minute with your host, Elliot Omanson. Today is March 10th, and as always, Elliot is here to provide you with a quick and concise update on the current state of the market.

Before we dive into the market update, Elliot has some exciting news to share. He reveals that it's going to be his 21st anniversary in seven days, but he's going to celebrate it by leaving his wife in Kansas and going to Florida. Of course, he's just kidding and will be celebrating with his wife this weekend.

Today's episode has a special guest, Cherie, who is new to OWLFI but not new to Elliot. Cherie's son and Elliot's son have been friends for almost a decade, and they've talked for about six months. Elliot is thrilled to bring someone with the skill sets he needs onto his team, and they will discuss Cherie's role at OWLFI later in the video.

Elliot then moves on to the market update, and unfortunately, it's not good news. The market is down due to the Fed talking about persistent inflation, and the odds of them being able to create a soft landing are becoming less and less. The White House has announced a slew of taxes to help slow the economy down and bring inflation under control even quicker.

However, Elliot is not all doom and gloom and has an exciting article to share. It's from a guy named Ken Fisher, who is famous for trashing annuities while owning an 86-million-dollar stake in an annuity company. Ten years later, he wrote an excellent article titled "A bull market is in full swing, and most of us are in denial." Elliot is excited about this article because it highlights what he's been saying all along that the market has been on an upward trend for the past few months, and it's time to invest in it.

Elliot goes on to explain how the market had a great start to the year, but towards the end of February, it shed about half of what it had gained due to the end-of-the-year bump. However, it gained some traction in March but has been struggling to keep it going since then. Ken Fisher talks about how it's been four months since the stock market began its recovery and all the excuses as to why it's not a real bull market from the Fed and its rate hikes, inflation, recession, Chinese high balloons, and more.

Elliot believes that this is a time to invest in the market, and he's confident that Cherie's skill sets will help his team navigate the market better. He's excited to see what the future holds for OWLFI and his team.

That's it for this week's edition of Murphy's Market Minute. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more updates, and we'll see you next week!
