When we get ourselves out of the way the most surprising things happen for us. In writing, I call them the surprising offspring of one’s mind. Enjoy!

    New Year's Eve

    New Year's Eve

    New Year's Eve

Silently, the day passes over -
taking the year with the setting sun.
    Dark clouds push pains away;
    tears aren't needed this time.

    Muddy sponge fields splash
    with every step.
The new year only hours away,
lays the old one to rest,
    cherishes surprises, learnings,
    insights.

Healing ships sailed to better lands,
    lush nature throve forward,
again and again like the sun
    rising each morning.

Sailing rough seas on our rafts
we float down the river of life,
    the fire slowly fading
    beneath that endless space
filled with stars ready to be -
    discovered.

    Maybe, it will be you
    who catches my eye.
