Arsenal pass tense Derby test, Villa's point at Chelsea could be vital, Newcastle's hopes this season and beyond, and Sheff Utd down but who else?
Arsenal negotiated their trickiest test yet in the title run-in with a vital victory in the North London Derby. Mike, Myles and Dave look at how they held firm despite Tottenham almost coming back into the game, and their title hopes for the remaining games.
Tottenham's defeat hands the advantage to Aston Villa, who drew 2-2 with Chelsea despite going 2-0 up. The loss of Emi Martinez to injury made all the difference, and the lads ponder whether Robin Olsen really can step up?
Newcastle's 5-1 win over Sheffield United relegated the Blades, but the Toon's impressive recent form has got us asking about their prosopects once again.
And at the bottom, who else can join Everton in safety; Burnley, Luton or Nottingham Forest? -
Coventry fightback almost topples United, who face City in Cup Final again, Villa dominate Bournemouth, and Forest lose to Everton
Join Myles and Dave for another epic English football weekend. The main headline being Coventry City, who so nearly produced the comeback of the season in one of the games of the season. They pulled Manchester Untied back from 3-0 down to 3-3, taking the game to penalties and ALMOST achieving the mother of all comebacks. The lads analyse how Coventry almost did it, and why it feels like a hollow win for United.
They face Man City in the Final again, who laboured to a win over wasteful Chelsea.
And in the Premier League, Aston Villa carried their impressive European form into the weekend with a dominant, Ollie Watkins-inspired win over Bournemouth. While Nottingham Forest controversially lost to Everton with some questionable decisions, then taking to X to tweet their anger at the FA! The lads ponder whether they crossed the line in pretty much accusing them of corruption. -
Emery outsmarts Arsenal, Isak inspires Newcastle to thrash Spurs, Palace dent Liverpool's title hopes, and Forest's missed opportunity
In a huge weekend for movement at the top of the Premier League, at the top is where we saw it the most as Arsenal were beaten convincingly by Unai Emery's Aston Villa 2-0. Mike, Myles and Dave discuss how Emery set up to nullify the Gunners, and what Arsenal do from here.
Elsewhere, Liverpool lost to Crystal Palace and Tottenham lost to an Aleksander Isak-inspired Newcastle 4-0.
And also, will Nottingham Forest rue their 2-2 draw with Wolves as a missed opportunity in the relegation fight? -
Luton snatch vital late win, Villa get complacent, United steal an unlikely point off Liverpool, and Arsenal in the driving seat
Mike and Dave hail the heroic Hatters, as Luton grab a late, much-needed 2-1 win over Bournemouth with a superb 2nd-half fight back. As we reach the final stretch of the season we ask, are Rob Edwards' team actually enjoying the fight?!
Aston Villa almost gifted Brentford all 3 points despite going 2-0 ahead, with Ollie Watkins saving the day once more with the equaliser to make it 3-3. Watkins himself conceded Villa lacked a "big team mentality" by not seeing off Brentford while they had the chance. Is that a fair assessment.
Elsewhere, Manchester United somehow drew 2-2 to Liverpool to have a say in the title race. Despite facing a barrage of shots, Erik ten Hag's men came out fighting in the second half.
Which handed the advantage back to Arsenal, whose impressive 3-0 win over Brighton puts them back in the title driving seat. -
Liverpool top after Arsenal and City draw, Barnes winner in Newcastle thriller, Villa punish Wolves, and United snatch unlikely draw against Brentford
Myles and Dave try and sum up the biggest weekend of title-chasing action so far. Man City and Arsenal cancel each other out in a muted 0-0 draw, handing Liverpool the advantage. The lads discuss the action, plus debate the future of Jack Grealish.
Newcastle snatched a 4-3 comeback win over West Ham despite more injuries. However, it was the returning Harvey Barnes who made all the difference here.
Ezri Konsa's perfect week continued as Aston Villa beat West Midlands rivals Wolves 2-0. And Manchester United grabbed an undeserved point against Brentford. -
England lose to Brazil - Ollie Watkins impact, missing Kane and Saka, Konsa the highlight, and Endrick's explosive introduction
Mike and Dave analyse England's friendly encounter with Brazil, losing 1-0 at Wembley with a few experiments in Gareth Southgate's team.
Yes, it's only a friendly but it IS Brazil, and how did England fail to score?! Are they too conservative still, and how did the debutants play?
