    I get it – ‘Quitting sugar’ is simpler than ‘eat everything in moderation’. (ok, next joke!)

    You follow rules. You have a list of foods to avoid. You don’t have to think. And it makes you feel trendy. But that’s a diet. And diets don’t work.

    Do you know how I became the healthiest I have ever been mentally, physically and spiritually?? Not by quitting sugar or ‘eating clean’. But by:

    Completely shifting my mindset around food and binge eating and losing the guilt associated with this cycle.

    Spending time accepting and loving my body through body image work.

    Adopting healthy habits that felt good to me.

    ADOPTING HEALTHY HABITS (NOT RESTRICTIONS) IS THE ONLY PROVEN WAY TO REACH AND STAY AT YOUR HEALTHIEST WEIGHT.

    Halfway through a kg bag of Peanut m&ms, I’m pissed at myself… because I just know that I’ll eat the whole bag.

    I feel out of control. I literally can’t stop eating.

    Binge eating like this was practically my norm during my Dieting Days. I would be a “good” little calorie-counter all day, only to find myself in the kitchen at night compulsively shovelling food into my face.

    At the time, I thought it was just a frustrating lack of willpower. But it was actually something else: hedonic eating.

    Have you ever overeaten because you didn’t want to waste food or money?

    Perhaps you spent €20 on a meal and felt like you’d be a sucker if you didn’t finish your plate… (as if taking it to-go wasn’t an option).

    Or maybe you can’t take it to-go (for whatever reason) and you feel like it’s disrespectful to waste food (for whatever reason).
