    It takes a Village…an interview with Anna Kierans from Irish Red Cross on Community Sponsorship

    This week Ruth chats to Anna Kierans from Irish Red Cross about their Community Sponsorship programme in Galway. Since 2018 the Irish Red Cross have been involved in supporting and enabling individuals in a community to come together to provide holistic integration for a family coming to Ireland from a war torn country including Syria and Afghanistan. They are currently recruiting for this role in Galway and Anna tells us all about what is involved and the impact a community group can make for a family coming to live in Ireland.

    This week Ruth chats to Brian Curtin, Volunteer Manager with FoodCloud. FoodCloud is a social enterprise with a mission to tackle food waste by redistributing surplus food from manufacturers and retailers to local charities in the community.  It currently operates three main hubs located in Dublin, Cork and Galway and works with a network of over 600 Irish charities.
