Dr. Klapper starts the last hour of his show by taking phone calls from listeners. One caller used to serve the Doc subpoenas for medical records at Cedars Sinai but he his still a huge fan. Callers are calling in to talk about how much they love the show and what Doc has meant to them over the years. They all call in to share their favorite stories that Doc has told over the years. Doc recounts a lot of the stories that he has told about his carpenter father and nurse mother. He also recalls the huge list of celebrities he has had on the Weekend Warrior show as guests. He has always had such a wonderful variety of guests and listeners love learning something new. The topic of today's show is trust. Doc gives his example in music as Brian Wilson and the writing of The Beach Boys song "God Only Knows" with Tony Asher writing the lyrics. Guest Leslie Deland calls in to speak with Doc about how her job as a swimming teacher encompasses the entire concept of trust. Her students have to put all of their trust in her and rely on her completely when learning how to swim. Leslie describes how babies trust without reservation but older children are scared and more difficult to treat how to trust. Doc continues to take calls from listeners and how he has drilled into everyone to not get cortisone shots and treat it holistically and with hydrotherapy instead. Dr. Klapper thanks everyone for supporting him and listening to him over these past twelve years. He hopes to continue the show but in some other medium. So stay tuned because Dr. Klapper will soon pop up somewhere else!
