    The Rock Within Me

    The Rock Within Me

Recently in California there has been too much rain. After years of drought, the rain has come, and now the mud is sliding down the hills. The ground has become saturated and has started to slide down the hills onto the roads, sometimes with a couple houses with it. This points out the challenge of one’s foundation. Are we founded upon the mud or the sand or upon a rock. Where have I heard this before? Oh yeah, there’s a parable about this that Jesus taught. So what is your foundation and how centered are you on it?. And is it centered within you? What’s your relationship with your foundation.? Without a good solid connection to a foundation we can be pushed around. Are the winds of  doubt pushing you about? Do the voices of fear move you backwards? Is the pain of your past crushing you? Is the flood of your problems trying to wash you away? In today’s episode, we will learn about our foundation and our relationship with him. Our foundation is Jesus. If you need help, standing strong with the truth, give a listen.

    Dead and Alive

    Dead and Alive

Back in the wild west, there were wanted posters for bad guys. They usually had a picture of the wanted criminal and some other description of them and their crime. One of the first wanted posters for Jesse James was for $500 for his conviction. He had to be alive and taken to court. Another later rendition the wanted poster after he had become a worst criminal had the reward of $25,000 for him dead or alive. That makes it easy for the bounty hunter but deadly for the criminal.

We as sinners before we confessed Christ as Lord and Savior were worthy of death. Sin had separated us from God. But at one point we came to a decision to stop sinning as a lifestyle and turn our lives over to God and his son Jesus. At that point we passed from death until life. We were reconciled to God and brought into his family. Unfortunately our minds can still hold on to the former corrupt habits. Does sin still hold you as a prisoner? Do you still identify as a criminal as a sinner? The truth is you are wanted by God. But he wants you alive to him. He wants you to turn from your sin and live as his child. You have a new identity in Christ. In today's episode I will explore the paradox of being dead and alive. Give a listen.

    The Door to Freedom

    The Door to Freedom

I’m currently trying to plan a short vacation day or day and a half. Putting the work schedule and the rest of laborious life behind even if it is for a short time and taking a moment to regenerate is healing. You leave the world behind and go breathe. It’s always nice to get away from it all. Unfortunately, at times, even though we may vacate, one place, the work and the labor of life follows us in our thoughts. Instead of getting away from it all, we bring it with us. At times the challenges of our life can keep us tethered to one place that lacks the atmosphere for us to regenerate. Are you having trouble getting beyond the doors that may have trapped you? Are you having trouble finding freedom from mental pain in life? Are you having trouble breathing due to the pressures of life? In today’s episode I want to look at unlocking the doors that trap us. If you need freedom, give a listen.

    Use Your Voice

    Use Your Voice

It can be said of some people that they have a mouth like a sailor. Meaning of course they have a very colorful, well,  very earthy, well, ok let’s get honest, vulgar speech. I mean no disrespect to sailors. Thank you for your service. This description is an actually a very old historical reference dating back as far as the mid 1700s. But then the same thing can also be said about truck drivers and a few other groups of people.

So what can be said about the way you talk? What kind of vocabulary do you have? Are you speaking things that will render grace to those that hear? And what about ourselves? What are we saying to ourselves about ourselves? And very importantly what are we saying to our enemies?

What comes out of our mouth can determine the direction and quality of our lives. Though sometimes we don’t speak out loud, those words also have an effect in our heart. And do we speak out against the lies that our enemies speak to us? In today’s episode, I want to explore the power of words and how we use our mouths. Give a listen.
