The Bible (According to My Sister) Bible Sisters
-
- Religion & Spirituality
Sisters Abbey and Shannon love a good story. So it's no surprise that they've sunk their teeth into an old masterpiece; The Bible.
Together they tell some lesser known tales from the bible, debunk myths, and keep you up to date on Bible-themed movies and musicals.
Abbey has a Master's of Divinity, and loves telling bible stories. Shannon has seen 13 versions of Jesus Christ Superstar and maybe owns a bible...somewhere. So they've got this. You can trust them.
Join them every other Wednesday for your dose of Bible time.

Episode 74: Revelation #2
In the Bible Story Corner we're back in Revelation! We finally dive into what millennialism is and how that's made America kinda weird.
ALSO Shannon totally missed the 50th anniversary of Jesus Christ Superstar last year, and NEEDS to make up for it. -
Episode 73: Ezekiel and the Fire Pants
Abbey finally explains what's going on with the first part of Ezekiel.
Shannon discovers Jesus stuffies. -
Episode 72: Michal
Abbey brings the story of Michal (first wife of King David, but also her own person, alright), in an attempt to enrage Shannon. She succeeds but is also able to bring up interesting points about spiritual abuse and what the point of a biblical story is if not to learn morals.
Shannon wants everyone to listen to How to Save a Planet (but specifically the episode about converting evangelicals to believe in Climate Change. -
Episode 71: Hey Jude
Abbey talks about the book of Jude, but finds too many dead ends to draw good conclusions. In
Silly Stuff, Shannon's found a new way to torment Abbey (hint: it involves zombies). -
Episode 70: Refuge Cities
Abbey discusses refuge cities as seen in Joshua, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Also why aren't there more sermons and commentaries about this?? The sisters have to come to their own conclusions.
Shannon continues to make mistakes, this time by reading and evangelical propaganda book. It makes her cranky. -
Episode 69: The Man of God from Judah
Abbey opens her bible to a random page and starts a conversation about what we can get from the bible.
Shannon's watched Blue Like Jazz (again apparently) and doesn't hate it.
