E74 - Interview with Christine Sandman Stone: Storyteller, Mentor-Extraordinaire and Founder, Deliver at Scale UNBOSSED with Marina

    • Society & Culture

In this episode I interviewed Christine Sandman Stone: Storyteller, Mentor-Extraordinaire and Founder, Deliver@Scale.

Christine Sandman Stone is an advisor, strategist, connector of ideas and people, and author.

Christine's career began with technical project management - quickly evolving into project recovery, developing top performing tech teams, building business technical strategies and financial plans, then changing and building organizations to sustained success.

Christine builds and advises tech organizations to execute. Founder of Deliver@Scale, Christine is a sought-after expert in the areas of strategic planning in tech, transformation, work-life balance, and tech talent diversity. She previously led Groupon’s recovery and survival of the pandemic via OKR and Agile transformation across the Product & Engineering organizations. She honed her skills at VW/Audi, EMC2 Dell, McDonald’s and consulting firms.  Leading technical change and developing people is a natural part of Christine’s approach, formalized in her graduate work in Organizational Behavior.

Her first book The Parent Track: Work-life Balance Hacks to Elevate Your Career and Raise Good Humans came out in 2020 gives working parents viable guidance to navigate career and family.  Her second book The Management Mentor: Practical, Tested Tools for New Managers (will be published in Spring 2023) just finished beta testing with  people managers in growing companies, and is set to be a sought after reference for newly-minted people managers, especially those in tech.

She mentors with Chicago Innovation, AnitaB, Illinois Science and Technology Coalition, and is active with the Chicago Women in Tech community including ARA, i.c.Stars, Chicago Executive Women’s network and others.  She is an organic connector of technology and people.

Thoughts: Our stories, our tribal knowledge can help others. We have a generational gap, and not enough role models of folks making this work. Let’s share our stories.
