Calandrian Simpson-Kemp founded Village of Mothers, a support group for grieving mothers after her 20-year-old son was shot and killed in Houston in 2013. She's a vocal advocate for the gun prevention movement.

Shannon Watts started Moms Demand Action, a national movement with millions of supporters and local chapters in all 50 states. which started in response to the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

Carrie received her doctorate in prenatal and perinatal psychology and is masterful at synthesizing and articulating the science, psychology and spirituality of humanhood. She is the creator of Evolve, a yearlong "personal growth through parenting" program. She is also the co-founder of the Slow Family Living movement and the co-author of CALMS A Guide To Soothing Your Baby. Carrie has appeared on NBC’s “The Today Show,” NPR, CBS radio and in many publications including Time, Parenting and The Boston Globe.

We are joined this week by special guest, Nse Ufot. Nsé is the Chief Executive Officer of the New Georgia Project (NGP) and its affiliate, New Georgia Project Action Fund (NGP AF). Nsé leads both organizations with the goal of making it easier for every voter to engage in every election.  Nsé and her team are also developing Georgia’s home-grown talent by training and organizing local activists across the state. She has dedicated her life and career to working on civil, human and workers’ rights issues and leads two organizations whose complementary aim is to strengthen Georgia’s democracy.
