Christian Entrepreneurship, Starting a Business, Marketplace Ministry, Faith, Kingdom Business

The Go-to Podcast for Christians Who Want to Pursue Their Entrepreneurial Calling!

- Has God called you to entrepreneurship but you don’t know where to start ... or worse, you’ve tried and failed?
- Are you trapped in the ”golden handcuffs” ... in a dead-end job but too scared to leave the ”security” it provides?
- Do you feel like there has to be more to life but you don’t know how to dream again?
- Do you feel stuck and hopeless?

Hey, I’m John Balauat and I’ve been there. The entrepreneurial journey is filled with peaks and valleys but if you’re called to it, you won’t experience the fulfillment God has for you unless you pursue it. Also, the world won’t get to experience the gift that’s inside of you.

In this podcast, we talk about things that:
- help you become Spirit-led and hear God better for — not only your business — but your personal life.
- connect with your true God-given identity
- and gain Wisdom that you can apply to your life

I’m looking forward to be a voice that can encourage you to step into who you were ALWAYS meant to be!

Put your headphones on, grab a hot coffee, and be ready to write down some notes because we’re gonna run towards that next level!

Ep. 45 - The Gritty Dentist

Ep. 45 - The Gritty Dentist

In this episode of “Chasing the Kingdom” I have a conversation with Brent Wong, an entrepreneur who built a successful dental business, which includes 3 different practices.
Brent took a year off to spend time with his family and to build Shine the Light Initiative, a ministry he founded with his wife Wendy, that provides dental care to the world’s underserved populations in the Name of Jesus. God blessed his business — and even though he was only working 25 hours a month to keep the business running, he had no loss in revenue!
Listen in to part 1 of his story!
    About Brent Wong:
Brent Wong is, above all, a child of God and also is a loving husband to Wendy and a dedicated father to Jonah and Isaiah. In 2000, Brent earned his second university degree, a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. By 2004, he had ventured into private practice, and today owns three general dentistry practices employing five dentists. His current focus is on dental implants and oral surgery for full-arch rehabilitation, as well as enjoying the entrepreneurial aspects of the dental business. In 2005, Brent and Wendy founded the Shine the Light Initiative, providing dental care to the world's underserved populations, from Africa to Mexico. Presently, their efforts are concentrated in a barrio of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Their ministry has built over 75 homes and a community center, with the support of groups from Canada and the United States. Over the past 19 years, more than 1200 people have come down on over 50 trips to help the underserved in the Dominican RepublicLooking ahead, Brent plans to increase the number of trips to the Dominican Republic and expand job training programs at their community center, which is slated for an expansion project later this year. Brent firmly believes that lifting people out of poverty begins with a helping hand and ends when you have the honour of letting go.

Ep. 44 - Pivot Pt. Deux

Ep. 44 - Pivot Pt. Deux

In this episode, I finish my conversation about God pivots with Chef Alex Leblanc. Is God causing you to pivot in your life? If so, listen in and get encouraged!
    About Alexander LeBlanc:
I’m a musician and developing filmmaker. I majored in Film at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and in Christian studies at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, Colorado.
Before God called me to Florida, I was a musician at my home church in Louisiana, as well as a youth group leader, an elementary school tutor, and eventually a full-time videographer. The Lord had me lay everything down to move to Florida with no plan besides what He called His “discipleship school,” and that’s exactly what it’s been ever since. Now it’s my fourth year at my amazing church, Powerhouse church, where I’ve been getting discipled and playing piano there for 4 years, and also playing piano in the band.
The Lord has had me make some interesting choices since I moved here, but the fruit of it all has been so evident! Now the Lord had me quit my last job, and in the waiting season, all His provision keeps coming in while I rest and wait for the next steps.

Ep. 43 - The One Where He Pivots Pt. 1

It’s been a year! In this anniversary episode, I invite my good friend, Alex LeBlanc, to talk about God pivots. Father has been leading me to pivot different things in my life, including this podcast and I thought Alex would be the perfect person to have a conversation about this with because he’s going through his own pivot.
Is God causing pivots to happen in your life? Then you’ll want to hear this episode!
