Let's be real, none of us really know what we're doing.
So, as a fellow person that somehow lives on this floating rock of ours, you're welcome to come learn alongside me as I speak to people who generally know a lot more about certain topics than I do, and occasionally share my *seemingly-groundbreaking-at-the-time* life revelations.
We're here for open discussion, conversations lead by curiosity, demystifying the human experience, and dismantling the shame that so often keeps us silent.
Oh, and I'm Gaby by the way. Nice to meet you.

    8. Neurodivergent in a neurotypical world - ADHD with Jessie Bryant

    8. Neurodivergent in a neurotypical world - ADHD with Jessie Bryant

If you aren't already familiar... What is neurodivergency? I hear you ask? By the textbook: anyone who strays from what is considered the cognitive norm. ADHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia, and autism are only a few that the term covers.

In this episode, model Jessie Bryant comes on to talk about her experience with ADHD, from being young and not understanding why she felt so different, to eventually being diagnosed and gaining a better understanding. From being neurodivergent in an education system that is anything but friendly to ADHD, to the perks that come with it, this episode is hopefully a starter into understanding what so many misunderstand.

    In this episode:

    - What is neurodivergency?

    - How does neurodivergency fit in the mainstream education system

    - What people mis-assume about ADHD

    - What actually is ADHD? (And the different types)

    - How neurotypical people can be less inconsiderate

    - Jessie's experience of getting diagnosed

7: All about astrology: What is a birth chart? + The astrology of the pandemic.

7: All about astrology: What is a birth chart? + The astrology of the pandemic.

Astrology. The topic that was once underground that has now become mainstream. “What’s your star sign?” - I wonder how many times a day that question is asked.

Whether you know it as just your sun sign, or your roadmap to if you and your next partner are compatible or not, something you read about in your weekly newspaper, as just the thing the ‘woo woo’ girl next door keeps going on about, use it as a point of connection to the rest of the universe, or plan out when to rest and when to work according to the lunar cycle… in this episode we delve right into the very stigmatised topic of astrology.

Patrick Geary, an astrologer, addresses what actually IS a birth chart, and how we can interpret it. We delve into some of the transits of the past year (Saturn-Pluto conjunction anyone?), and how the major shifts we saw in the sky correlated to those here on Earth. For those of you that already have a good understanding of astrology, Patrick offers what might be a refreshing new perspective on the topic and how we can relate to it. For those of you that don't know much, this episode is a good place to start.

Ep.6: I hear music in my brain.

Ep.6: I hear music in my brain.

Musicians... I don't know how you do it but apparently you hear music in your brains?!?!?!? The fact that you can hear original sound in your minds genuinely, deeply, and profoundly baffles me but at least it has produced an episode where we try to talk about this as best we can - featuring me (someone who knows nothing about music), and my childhood friend (who knows everything about music).

Nathalie De Leuw is a musician who has loved music since she was young, and in this episode we discuss all things music.

    In this episode:

    - What it's like to perform

    - Imposter syndrome

    - The importance of art

    - Opinions about the performance industry

    - Self expression

    - Shyness VS confidence

    - "Putting yourself out there"

    - Creating music + the process of making art

Ep.5: The orgasm gap, being sexualised, & owning your sensuality

Ep.5: The orgasm gap, being sexualised, & owning your sensuality

HOW DO YOU FIND THE CLIT?!?!?!

Ok hi, now I have your attention (although we do address this in the episode)... have you ever found yourself dissatisfied with your sex life, intimacy, or unable to communicate in those settings?

Yeah. Not to generalise, but pretty much every woman under the sun, as well as men, have most likely at one point felt that way. According to some studies, only 1 third of adults are actually satisfied with their sex life (in the UK at least). Comfortable communication, feeling connected to our bodies, and feeling safe in intimate settings are things that are far less common than they should be. And why is that?

(TW: This episode does discuss sexual assault, consent, and boundaries.)

This episode addresses these topics, holding an open discussion and debate between two friends - we share some personal experiences and raise a few questions that we, ourselves, are still figuring out.

I hope this episode creates a sense of comfort for the topics and themes that we are sometimes less comfortable talking about, and that you realise you are not alone in feeling how you feel about these things sometimes.

    With love, enjoy the episode.

    Some other topics covered -

    - Being sexualised in a work environment

    - Feeling voiceless

    - Why do we not speak up?

    - The orgasm gap

    - Female sexuality being seen as complicated

    - Stigma around female sexuality

    - What does it mean to 'hold the space'?

    - Feeling comfortable enough to actually say no

    - How a 'no' should be responded to
