    Episode Notes:

    - What students really remember is not so much how you taught them, but how you made them feel, how you connected with them.
    - Listening is the key - understanding what the students need
    - Conflict resolution, how to communicate effectively, how to be vulnerable - all need to be taught
    - Some children are more open, but many have not had the opportunity to speak and express themselves - so we need to find the way and make the time for it to happen
    - Teachers should have the philosophy “We’re here to help, or point you to someone else who can help.”
    - Shouting and punishments achieve very little. You will get much more by building a relationship with the student, than by shouting
    - Teachers need to be prepared for all kinds of situations, and try to use every way to handle the situation within the classroom. Sending the student to the office should be the very last resort.
    - Holistic, therapeutic, plans in place to help students learn and grow from their mistakes rather than be punished
    - Reiki is a way for you to heal yourself, rather than someone else healing you
    - It helps students see the beauty of relaxing, of breathing, of connecting with themselves
    - Ask children to try it once, and if they like it they can continue with it.
