Amazon Crash Lands at The San Bernardino International Airport

What is the logistics industry? Where does it begin? Anthony and Andres unpack some of what the logistics industry does for you as a consumer and more importantly what it does to communities that historically, have been left out of the input process for where these logistical titans can set up their hubs for the movement of goods. They also speak more in depth about the recent announcement that Amazon will be the new tenant to use the Eastgate Air Cargo Logistics Center. They discuss what we long suspected and now know about Amazon and what this means for the region and for the San Bernardino Airport Communities Coalition.

"We're All In The Same Boat" Amazon Ramps Up Development Despite Internal Dysfunction

San Bernardino Mayor John Valdivia receives a failing grade from clean air advocates and the American Lung Association. This may not come as a shock to anyone because as Mayor and President of the SBIAA, Valdivia has ushered a wave of development that adds to an already polluted air basin. The AQMD reports that the South Coast Air Basin had experienced 12 consecutive days of bad air (ozone) days. This comes as Amazon is rumored to be the official tenant for the Eastgate Air Cargo Logistics Center at the San Bernardino International Airport (f.k.a. Norton AFB) and as Amazons top engineer and VP of Web Services resigns in dismay at the firing of AECJ Tech Workers for organizing a petition and Amazon Warehouse workers who attempted to organize a walkout. Anthony and Andres also get a chance to talk to newly formed Sunrise Rancho Cucamonga member Marissa Flores about Sunrise youth organizing principles and how her experience in the I.E. has lead her to a life of organizing.
