In this episode, we talk about one of the host's family of osprey and her homemade octopuses, as well as a missing zebra that got Washington state all excited. Since recording this episode on May 2nd, the zebra had been found safe & sound. Speaking of zebras. nothing in life is black and white...which takes us to the protests happening at many college campuses across the nation. We know it's complicated on both sides. We also raise a glass to you overnight workers...making magic in the dark. When the world is asleep, you're wide awake. Because sleep is for sissies...or not.

Hall & Oates have broken up? They've lost that loving feeling? The duo's gone? Say it isn't so. Laurie, Claire and Anna know exactly what you're thinking: "If THESE two couldn't make it, what chance do *I* have? I can't go for that. No can do. Their kiss is on my list. Possession obsession." Well, buck up little camper. Turn that frown upside down, Sara. They never formally broke up...supposedly. That's right. Maybe, just maybe there's a chance the dynamic duo could return....mano a mano. And wouldn't that make our dreams come true? Perhaps they'll reunite as Oates & Hall....or not.

This episode was recorded 4/4/24 -- 4 days before the solar eclipse, and boy were we excited enough to come up with several songs we think had to do with an eclipse or something extra showing up on the sun. So whip out those eclipse shades, ready your pinhole projector...because you'll need them to listen to this podcast....or not.

This was recorded 3/22/24, the day Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis. So many across the world are sending her well wishes. The rest of the royal family are also receiving well-wishes from many, including Camilla. Don't get Laurie started on Camilla! We're pretty sure Laurie plans to invite her to coffee.....or not.

What did you think of Senator Cringey Britt -- I mean, Senator Katie Britt -- and her response to the State of the Union. Powerful? Or deeply weird? Thank goodness Scarlett Johansson came to our rescue by showcasing everything wrong with Katie's speech. Also, is your street living in perfect harmony? (As in - the old Coca Cola commercial). No matter all the diverse political tastes showing up all across the board, people on Claire's street seem to be okalee-dokalee with each other, no matter what flag or signs or colors are showing up on each of her neighbors' yards. Well. Except maybe Claire might feel a little bit extra careful around one neighbor who she's pretty sure would get all Yosemite Sam on her if she accidentally stepped a half inch onto his yard. We're pretty sure, though, he'd be ok with her dog dropping a deuce on his driveway...or not.

Maybe you grew up saying Hey You Guys. Maybe the Tv show Electric Company made Hey You Guys cool. But one of the Listen & Learn or Not hosts doesn't think the phrase is so cool - especially in the podcast world. While it seems harmless, have you ever stopped to think about its impact? Laurie discusses the reason it bothers her and possibly others who might feel the phrase -- while the intent is usually to make listeners feel inclusive -- can actually cause some to feel excluded. Don't even get her started on Zoom fatigue! Don't worry, little camper. The first few minutes of this episode Claire & Anna might cause you to want to cut Footloose, and quite possibly put on your Sunday shoes....or not.
