It's information about first cervical vertebrae which also named as atlas
The atlas is first cervical vertebrae. It is situated between occipital condyle of skull and axis(sec cervical vertebrae). Atlas have two large masses means large bulky and solid parts. This large masses are connected with anterior and posterior arch to form ring like structure so that atlas looks like ring shape. It is different from other cervical vertebrae by vertebral bodies and spinous process. Transverse process made by connection of anterior and posterior arch. Transerve process carries vertebral artery.
