Edge Infrastructure as Code: So What?

Edge Infrastructure as Code: So What?

In the past, when a company wished to quickly scale up their services, they had to weigh the cost of obtaining and supporting new technology infrastructure. If they overextended themselves, they could run the risk of falling flat on their face. Underbuilding, however, means that they fail to maximize available market share or growth. The solution is Infrastructure-as-Code. IaC is quickly gaining traction in both the public and private sectors, thanks to its ability to manage the ebbs and flows of demand for technology services. In this episode, Biney Dhillon is joined by Will Lester, Vice President of Engineering at NexTech Solutions, as they seek to demystify and define Infrastructure-as-Code. So companies can increase their technology infrastructure many times over in a single day, so what?

    DevOps: So What?

    DevOps: So What?

DevOps is the digital assembly line. Historically, developers have created their product and handed it over to another team responsible for ensuring that the product itself was secure. This caused numerous problems and delays in delivering software as questions are asked and answered, problems solved, work redone, and so on. DevOps melds the two functions of Development and Operations, meaning that as products are developed, security and operational considerations are accounted for during the build process, saving everyone time and money. The result is, in essence, a digital assembly line. In this episode, Biney Dhillon is joined by Jason Ader, Partner/Research Analyst at William Blair, for a discussion on the genesis of DevOps, how it’s affecting modern businesses, and where the future lies.  So, the Developers and Operations people are working on the same team now, so what?

    Cybersecurity Automation: So What?

    Cybersecurity Automation: So What?

How does an organization know their technology infrastructure is secure? Not just theoretically so, but truly secure? The only way to find out is to put it to the test. Red teams are in high demand, and as such, are generally expensive and only available on an irregular basis. What if it were possible to simulate an attack on your own infrastructure, and to do so whenever you wished? Thanks to automation, it’s very possible. In this episode, Biney Dhillon is joined by Tony Pillitiere, the Co-Founder and CTO of Horizon3.ai, for a discussion on how automation now enables infrastructure owners to assess their true vulnerabilities regularly enough to make a difference. So there now exists an automated “Red Team”, so what?

    Automation: So What?

In this episode, we welcome our guest is Bill Crupi. Bill is an Automation Engineer for NexTech Solutions. Automation is a hot topic in the IT world these days, but it’s been around since the Industrial Revolution. Increases in speed, consistency, and security are obviously attractive to anyone who depends on technology on a regular basis. We know that automation is usually helpful, but some would say that it is a misconception that automation is the answer to everything. So, does everything really need to be automated? During this episode, Biney Dhillon and Bill Crupi talk through the realities of automation, how things are changing, and what clients ought to consider while thinking through their own implementations.   Everyone’s talking about Automation, so what?

    Machine Learning: So What?

We talk about a lot of different things on a day-to-day basis, but we often fail to get to the “Why?” In this series, we’ll attempt to cut through the noise by quickly breaking down the biggest and/or most misunderstood topics in modern technology and getting answers to the root question of “So What?” (This podcast is produced by NexTech Solutions, LLC.) In this episode, our guest is John Partee. John is a Machine Learning Engineer for NexTech Solutions. He holds an M.S. in Data Science and B.S. in Computer Science. ML/AI is the wave of the future, right? There are a lot of different ideas about what the terms Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) mean. Sometimes they’re even used interchangeably. You started hearing these terms being used more widely in 2012, but they existed long before modern computing. As the world’s computing power begins to catch up to the ideas espoused by the scientists of the ’50s, decades-old theories can now be tested. In this episode, Biney Dhillon and John Partee will help the listener understand ML/AI, what the terms really mean, and how will they affect us in our daily lives?
