TAKE IT ALL IN Mark Kitcher

Meet Nader! BA Journalism Student in my final year, he is mainly involved in political and activist type journalism, likes writing articles about current events and discussing them. While he enjoys reporting on most things (general subjects) he likes taking an approach that indirectly leads the reader to a conclusion he might want them to get to.

His thesis is about how media sways opinions on public issues. That is to say how mass media (could) have an undue influence on people’s opinions about world events and politics as a whole. Nader believes it could be rather interesting to (possibly) discover a link between the two. This also ties into his earlier mention of political journalism.

Meet Rachel! Rachel has always been interested in the arts; from a young age, she did ballet and always involved herself in any school production. Two years before enrolling into MCAST, she joined the Free Spirit Acting School, which kindled her pursuit of acting or theater in general. After a short spell in Media, she joined the Performing Arts course. She joined it not truly understanding what the course was about and as sort of on a whim because she still had that small love for theater and for acting that she wanted to explore.

Meet Andreas! Andreas was brought up in the cold lands of Denmark and moved to a much smaller country called Malta which was a life-changing event. The transition from one life to another was an eye-opener to a different culture, so he found photography as his ideal medium for capturing new moments. Through vast inspirations, he has created an ongoing developing photographic style of fashion, street, and landscapes as they reveal a truer emotion in my eyes. All these fascinate him as they vary in style through time and places which create a unique look.

Meet Rachel! currently based in Malta, reading for her B.A. (Hons.) in Creative Media Production and has been attending the school since 2016, where she read for an Advanced Diploma in Creative Media Production. Upon graduation, she plans to move to Berlin to pursue an MA in Directing. Her love and passion for cinema has forced Rachel to push herself out of her comfort zone and has taught her to strive to challenge herself and her ideas, to provoke her audience.

Meet Vincenzo! Vincenzo Calafiore is a 3D generalist who aspires to become a technical artist. His range of abilities goes from purely artistic and graphical subjects to the development of interactive projections and small scripts. He poses extreme attention to details and always tries to find why some designs work and others do not. He likes to learn and gather knowledge about anything design related and has a strange obsession for pipelines efficiency, non-disruptive workflows, procedural techniques and being fast between design iterations.

Meet Jamie! His work takes inspiration from 2 main areas: midcentury (mainly 70s) culture and design, and alternative and rock music culture. He is heavily inspired by music as he is constantly listening to music and trying to find new music. Jamie also forms part of Pebble Beach and The Glades, and write my his material. His work has a vintage, worn-in feel by using certain faded colours, and a wide range of textures. For his thesis, Jamie is combining his two passions: design and music. I’m exploring ways to enhance live music performances by means of visuals accompanying the music.
