Subtracting within 1000 using success criteria and having rich conversations.

week 6 (3rd grade math)
In this episode we talk about how to encourage rich discussion with the students and how to have them discover what we’re going to learn about. We talk about four different strategies number of the day, same and different, drawn a story problem, and notice and wonder.

week 5 (adding and subtraction using success criteria)
This week we will learn about adding in subtracting in third grade using success criteria. Success criteria is outlining exactly what it takes to be successful and sharing it with your students.

week 4 (The first day of 3rd grade)
This week is about the first week of school. This is the honeymoon phase. The students want to please you and want to know how to make you happy.
Students cannot learn 2 things at once. When you teach them routines and procedures you need to review math that they care comfortable with.
Be nice to your students. Fill their bucket because one day you will need to withdrawal. -
