You are not a great teacher. Yet. You will be. But not for a long while. Right now, you don’t know what you’re doing and it probably shows. You need some help. There’s a situation you could have handled differently. There’s some time wasted. You probably don’t feel like yourself and it’s exhausting.
Yet, there will be a day when you will be a capable teacher with a toolbox of skills that you’ll be able to competently employ in a multitude of situations. There will be a time when people will look to you as an expert in the field of education. It hasn’t happened yet, but it will.
This podcast is meant to help you find your way during those first few years of teaching. We’ll talk with experienced teachers to find practical ways for you to tackle the early part of your teaching career. We’ll give you some inspiration to keep you going. We’ll make it okay to make a few mistakes so that you can learn from them and become the teacher you want to be.
Because you’re not a great teacher. YET.

Episode 2: Office Politics
Episode 2 is about office politics. One of the scariest things about your first teaching job is that sometimes it's the first "real" job you've ever had. You've probably had a job before but a real job. Forgetting to put onions on the quarter pounder at your job is one thing but forgetting to turn in your grades at your real job is something different. Your teaching job is more important to you so messing up can feel more embarrassing. And suddenly all the social interactions you have with co-workers might feel more awkward.

Episode 3: Principals
Episode 3 is about principals. Your boss is on your side and ready to help you. But sometimes it feels like the principal is at odds with you or setting obstacles in your way. Your principal wants the school to run successfully. If you can help the principal achieve that goal, you'll be considered a valuable employee.
