    Clarissa Cardenas: ATX Concert Queen

    Clarissa Cardenas: ATX Concert Queen

On this episode of Game Day Routine, I'm talking to one of my good friends (and fellow Dallas Comedy House graduate), the ATX Concert Queen: Clarissa Cardenas. Clarissa is a digital creator and "source for need-to-know Concerts & Events in ATX + beyond."

Before she was making waves in the Austin concert scene, Clarissa was dubbed C-Murda while playing basketball for Spring Hill College in Alabama. During her collegiate career, Clarissa shared her passion for music by creating warm-up CDs for her team and creating mixes for fellow students. Some things never change, and for Clarissa, that is being the go-to plug for music and the passion she has for it.

So what skills and routines did she pick up along the journey?

To keep going, be true to yourself, and never settle.

Kevin Daley: Leadership Speaker and Former Harlem Globetrotter

Kevin Daley: Leadership Speaker and Former Harlem Globetrotter

On this episode of Game Day Routine, I'm talking to someone who I have looked up to since I was 17: Kevin Daley, aka Special K. Kevin, is a former pro basketball player who spent 10-years as leader and captain of the Harlem Globetrotters. He is now an established author, public speaker, and Director of Sales for Velocity Global.

Before charting a path that would take him to over 99 countries, Kevin was a young Panamanian kid hooping out of basketball powerhouse Artesia High School. What skills and routines did he pick up throughout his basketball journey, from Artesia to the Harlem Globetrotters and everything in between?

To stay focused and to define your goals for yourself.

Kevin's story is truly one of perseverance and dedication to the grind.

Chandler Gadis: Director of First Tee-Greater Dallas

On this episode of Game Day Routine, I'm teeing it up with my former high school basketball and golf teammate: Chandler Gadis, who is currently the Director of First Tee - Greater Dallas.

First Tee Dallas is a non-profit teaching kids and teens to play golf while instilling valuable life lessons and leadership skills.

Before he was a professional golfer and director for First Tee, Chandler was a high school dual-sport athlete, a 2006 TAPPS State Champion golfer, and a man of Morehouse College. So, what skills and routines did he pick up during that time?

To slow down, stay prepared, and above all, never quit.

Libby Aurigemma: Senior Copywriter at Peloton

Libby Aurigemma: Senior Copywriter at Peloton

For our first episode of Game Day Routine, I'm diving into the story of one of my closest (and smartest) friends: Libby Aurigemma, who is currently the Senior Creative / Copywriter at Peloton.

Before her work at VaynerMedia and her role now as the voice behind one of the greatest brands in the world (Peloton), Libby was first just a 17-year-old high school double athlete. What skills and routines did she pick up during that time, as well as when she was a collegiate lacrosse player at Elon University?

Focus. Mental toughness. Trust. This episode is so inspiring and got me hyped up, so I hope it does for you, as well.

    What is Game Day Routine?

    What is Game Day Routine?

Welcome to Game Day Routine, a weekly podcast that interviews athletes and former athletes, learning how their routines have evolved over the years, from 17 years old to wherever they are now.

I'm Rob Howe and I'm an entrepreneur, podcaster, person with diabetes and, most importantly for the purposes of this podcast: a former athlete. I've been an athlete for my entire life, and that experience with sports has prepared me for my life after sports.

Now, my day-to-day might be a little bit more behind-the-desk then on-the-court ... but the traditions, skills, and routines that I cultivated during my years as a collegiate basketball player are with me every day in the office.

I know my experience is not an isolated one: so I am interviewing some of the brightest minds in business and marketing, who just so happen to have been athletes in their "past lives". I'll be getting down to the bottom of how their game day routines changed over the years, and how those traditions help them succeed in business.

If you are a current or former athlete, at any level, who wants to learn more about how to succeed in business, then this weekly podcast will be the show for you to subscribe to.
