Have you ever been told that you "speak so proper for a black person?" Or have you had to hide who you are in order to navigate and operate in an environment of people that looked nothing like you?
On this weeks "Mini Episode" (i say mini but it turned into a full episode); we're going to be discussing the phenomenon known as CODE SWITCHING : the art of disguising your authentic self in order to make those around you comfortable; in other words...it's putting on our job interview voice (read: white) and hoping that our managers allow braids in the workplace (*heavy eye roll*).
