What is the highest purpose of our morning time with the Lord? The answer may surprise you but according to the word we see that the highest purpose concerns not ourselves but our Lord. As we rise early in the morning to be with Him we become dew and a brook of refreshing water for our Lord to drink while He fights in this present age.

What should define our times with the Lord in the morning? Not duty, not ritual, but love. We must love the Lord freshly every day when we rise from our beds. This is what He desires and what He is waiting for each day. He is always loving us but is waiting for us to love Him back especially first thing in the morning.

Psa 110:3 Your people will offer themselves willingly / In the day of Your warfare, / In the splendor of their consecration. / Your young men will be to You / Like the dew from the womb of the dawn.

In this new season of morning dew we'll hone in on this one verse and how it unlocks several key points concerning our time with the Lord in the morning. In this episode we talk about how Christ should be the unique center and focus of our morning times. Nothing else, even good and proper things should distract us from this wonderful person.

In our times with the Lord in the morning singing is one of the best ways to get out of how we feel and get to Him! It also serves as a bit of an appetizer to whet our appetite for the word. A hunger and thirst for the Lord is also a huge component of our times with Him. We shouldn't spend with Him in the morning merely to check a box or fulfill a requirement of the Christian life, hopefully we have a genuine hunger and thirst for Him!

Revival is something we all long for but something we often relegate to large events or weekend retreats. Actually our Lord's desire is that we would be revived daily. Through His word and by His Spirit our Lord enlivens us and fills us when we have a touch with Him in spirit. May we all have a consistent and daily revival first thing in the morning, a morning revival.
