मंथन के इस एपिसोड में मंथन की ओर से हितेन्द्र ने प्रसिद्ध हिंदी लेखक अशोक जमनानी से नर्मदा नदी के ऐतिहासिक, पौराणिक एवँ आधुनिक काल में महत्व पर चर्चा की। अशोक जमनानी नर्मदा की एक परिक्रमा कर चुके हैं और अपनी यात्रा के अनुभवों पर जल्द ही एक पुस्तक प्रकाशित करने वाले हैं। हमने नर्मदा पर बने बांधों से हुए विस्थापन, पर्यावरण को हुए नुकसान पर बातें की। नर्मदा के किनारे रहने वाले आदिवासी समाज व ग्रामीण समाज का नर्मदा के प्रति जो प्रेम एवँ समर्पण है उसे समझने की कोशिश की। साथ ही पूरी दुनिया में नदियों, जंगलों और पर्यावरण को जो क्षति पहुँच रही है उस पर भी विस्तार से बात की। इस एपिसोड में अशोक जी ने नर्मदा पर लिखी उनकी रचनाओं का पाठ भी किया है।

In this episode Hitendra discusses with famous Hindi author Ashok Jamnani on the river Naramada. We discuss the important place of this river in history and Hindu mythology. We also discuss the unique emotional and devotional relationship that the communities living around the river Narmada have with for several centuries or even millenniums.  We also discussed about the climate change in the context of the river Narmada. Ashok also recites some of his poems on Narmada in this episode.
