Sam, Schools & Secret Ghosts
On episode 5 of its KO to be dyslexic I am joined by my 'oldest' friend Sam Johnson. Sam joined me on my rollercoaster ride through education, and I thought it would be interesting to get her experience of my time in education in regards to not only my dyslexia but my anxiety. This episode was a really fun one to record as we reminisced about our playground games and growing up together.
As always if you'd like to get involved and share your story then find me on Instagram as @thedyslexicyogi or email me on kirsty.lnicol@gmail.com -
Don't mention the D word
This episode I am joined by Jenna who describes herself as a multi-hyphen educator. Originally a primary school teacher, Jenna now works in a number of different roles within the education sector. Jenna talks about her experiences of supporting learners with dyslexia and special educational needs in her different roles and how this has shaped her career path to date. Throughout the episode, we discuss dyslexia from a teacher’s perspective and explore the dyslexia journey within the UK education system. If you would like to get in touch with Jenna, follow her on Facebook @Educational Lee.
*DISCLAIMER* Jenna notes that she is not a dyslexia specialist teacher and the discussion is based on her own experiences within the education system. They are not necessarily representative of the views and experiences of all teachers. -
