The incredible reality, though, is that it is God Himself who makes all this possible. He finds us where we are, rescues us from our empty lives, and brings us into the fullness of His perfect purposes!

Sunday, May 19, 2024  - Revelation 3:14-22 | Having a large amount of gifts and talents in a church is a huge asset in advancing the Gospel. But sometimes we can allow those things to make us self-sufficient, self-involved, and comfortable right where we are. Our issue becomes losing sight of our calling, just preserving what we have, and ceasing to be a source of refreshment and healing to those around us. Will we receive the loving correction of our Savior or remain complacent?

Sunday, May 12, 2024 - Revelation 3:7-13 | In His letter to the Church of Philadelphia, Jesus commends the believers for their faithfulness and perseverance despite opposition. Jesus encourages them to remain steadfast and promises them rewards for their endurance. Jesus' letter serves as encouragement and assurance for faithful believers.

Sunday, May 5, 2024 - Revelation 3:1-6 | How easy it is to check all the boxes and just feel good and confident in that. But do our good works come from a humble place of faith? Are our works about our Kingdom or His? The issue in the church at Sardis shows us how easy it is to be self-deluded. Will we hear Jesus’ words of warning?

Sunday, April 28, 2024 - Revelation 2:18-29 | Who doesn’t want to be liked? It’s easy to want to join in with those around us and live like social media or our friends suggest we should. Our issue is that we may then start to amend our beliefs or convictions to make them more palatable or easy for compromise. Jesus reminds us that we live in the world, but not of the world.

Sunday, April 21, 2024 - Revelation 2:12-17 | The issue of a church’s convictions versus what the dominant society around it believes has existed since the birth of the church in the 1st century. There are some “big ones” we seem clear on, but what about the small compromises that can work their way into the Body here and there? It’s easy to make “small” modifications or accommodations here or there just to keep the peace, but we see a healthy church is one who is willing to test all things against the Word and hold fast to living out their convictions.
