The European parliamentary elections happened recently and far-right parties made big gains, pushing out candidates from the centre and left of politics. As a result, decisions around key issues like climate change, migration and security in the European Union could be affected. In France, the hardline anti-immigration National Rally party won nearly a third of votes - prompting French President Emmanuel Macron to call a snap election.
