    Geordie Stewart (Winning HYROX London, Climbing Everest, and Riding Across the World)

    In this week’s episode on the Rox Lyfe podcast I get to chat with Geordie Stewart (@geordie_stewart on Instagram). Geordie has quite the story. He is the author of 3 books. The first details his experience of being the youngest ever person to scale the 7 summits (the highest mountains on each of the 7 continents). His second book documents his solo journey of 13,000 miles on a bike, from the UK to New Zealand, and his third is about his time training as an officer for the British Army at Sandhurst. We discuss all of these experiences, and more, as well as his experiences in HYROX which include him being part of the winning mixed doubles team at the recent HYROX London event, finishing in a time of 55.35mins.


    Bear Grylls has described him as “A true pioneer and an inspiration for tenacity and resilience.” And Sir Ranulph Fiennes has said that Geordie is “An ambitious young man with genuine determination,“ and that his “attitude is inspiring.’”

    In this week’s episode I get to speak with Vivian Tafuto (@viviantafuto on Insta). Vivian is one of the fastest ever women in HYROX. She finished 4th in the Elite race at the 2023 World Championships in Manchester and has qualified for this season’s Elite 15 after running a 1.02 in Vienna. In this chat we talk about her sporting background, her training, her race tactics, her running numbers and volume, her mindset, her scary experience with a masseuse in Manchester the day before last years world championships, and much more.     Steve Moharic (Special Forces Commando, and Attack Dog Handler, on HYROX)

    In this week’s episode of the Rox Lyfe podcast we get to speak with Steve Moharic (@k9_steve). Steve is a former Australian Special Forces Commando, turned dog trainer and hybrid Athlete. During his early years his sporting background was in running and swimming, before he made the switch to Triathlon. After burning out in his early 20’s, he fell deep into Melbourne’s criminal underworld.

    That was followed by joining the military in 2009. He was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, and spent over two years as part of Australia’s most elite force, the Tactical Assault Group. Later in 2016 he qualified as a Special Ops attack dog handler.

    We go over all this in our conversation, and lots more, as well as his experience in HYROX where he won his age group at his debut event in Melbourne, at a bodyweight of 105kg, which qualified him for the upcoming Nice World Championship.

    I was connected with Steve through Elite HYROX athlete Jon Wynn who was in the special forces at the same time as Steve.

    Steves story is really interesting - he’s a great guy, a great speaker, a great athlete – I loved chatting with him and I think you’ll really enjoy it.

    In this episode we get to speak with Maurice Andre (who you may know as @SCImotivation on Instagram). In Oct 2020 Maurice suffered a paragliding accident which left him with a spinal cord injury. Doctors told him he was unlikely to ever walk again. Life would be spent in a wheelchair. Yet just a few years later Maurice has completed several HYROX races, including 2 in one day at the recent London Olympia event. What’s more he has completed a 24 hour walking challenge, 100km bike rides and much more. He is an incredible guy, and an absolutely inspiration to many. It was a pleasure to be able to chat.     In this episode of the Rox Lyfe podcast Im chatting with Fredrik Zillen. Fredrik is a running technique specialist. Over the years he has guided thousands of runners to a more efficient running technique - from complete Beginners to members of the Swedish national team in running and triathlon who have participated in the World Championships and the Olympics. This episode is full of gold and can certainly, I think, help your performance in HYROX. We talk about running cadence, heel striking, why compromised running could be overrated, how to choose a shoe for HYROX, how to change your running throughout a HYROX, depending on what station you’ve just done, the dos and don’ts of treadmill running and lots more. Not only is Fredrik very knowledgeable but he’s very entertaining and a great speaker and a great teacher and honestly, I could have spoken with him for much longer.
