#13 - From Marine to Ultra Athlete: Billy Richards Incredible Journey | "Part 1"

I was lucky enough to have Billy Richards on the podcast today. I can honestly say that I haven't had anyone on quite like him. The amount of people he has impacted and the amount he has accomplished in 42 years of life is truly inspiring.

He is currently a personal trainer working at Fitlife East Islip on Long Island. Billy is a Certified as a Master Trainer through ISSA and NCSF, along with having over 60 other fitness certifications. He currently runs races and other fitness events with the American Flag, having carried it at every event since 2015, to honor the military, law enforcement and first responders. Bill has also set a record for most Spartan Trifectas by a male athlete with 32 in 2023 finishing a total of 158 events that year with a bad hip.

#11 - 2x Worlds Toughest Mudder Champion & Ultra Endurance Athlete | Kris Rugloski

#11 - 2x Worlds Toughest Mudder Champion & Ultra Endurance Athlete | Kris Rugloski

Kris was a ton of fun to have on the podcast. She is so humble, driven, and passionate about what she does in OCR and the endurance world. Kris is a 2x Worlds Toughest Mudder Champion and was the first women to complete 100 miles. She's also competed at a high level in Tough Mudder, Spartan, Savage, Hydrox, 100ks, Grid Games, 100 milers and many more. The crazy part is that she is only 27 years old!
What you may not know, is that this didn't come easy to Kris. She didn't grow up in sports or with a mindset that anything with possible. She learned this by doing. She started to compete at the age of 19 and didn't feel like she had the confidence to really compete with everyone. What she did though, is stuck with it and put in the work. I bring this up because everyone starts at ground zero. No one is special. You just have to get started and show yourself what is possible.

I hope you enjoy this podcast! If you do please subscribe and give it a follow!

#9 - 1st Briton To Complete The Triple Crown of 200s, Feeling Alive, & Mistaking Comfort For Happiness | Scott Jenkins

I am so grateful and lucky to have Scott Jenkins on the podcast. He is one of the most humble and kind people I have ever spoken to. Scott is an Ultra endurance runner and philanthropist. For those of you that don't know Scott, in 2023 he became the first British man to complete the Triple Crown of 200s which consist of the Moab 240, Bigfoot 200, and Tahoe 200, and finished 5th over between the 3 races which is an amazing feat to say the least.

Here are a few more of his incredible accomplishments.

    -  In 2021 he set the British course record at Moab 240 (77 hours and 2 minutes finishing 15th/227).
    -  He also became only the 924th person in history to complete the official Badwater 135.
    -  He has run 100 miles in sub 22hours and finished 6th overall in the UK’s Canalslam in 2019.
    -  In 2022 Scott ran the Cocodona 250 Ultramarathon in Arizona. (97 Hrs 04 Mins)
    -  Scott first got the “ultra-running bug” after completing 75 marathons in 75 days from Boston to Austin 2000 miles in 2010.

He is also an ambassador for the Operation Smile charity and spent time on a charity mission to Mekele, Ethiopia to see and help firsthand with the work that they do. Over the course of the years the money he’s raised has helped achieve giving over 85 children the ability to smile for the 1st time.

We discussed Scotts endurance feats, his training, his mindset, fear of failure, pushing yourself to be uncomfortable and so much more! If you would like to follow Scott, you can find him on Twitter and Instagram @scottjjenkins. I hope you enjoy the podcast. And again, CHASE DISCOMFORT!
