Marvel and DC SDCC 2022 Edition (Episode #43)
On this brand new edition of Keeping Things Reel, I get to cover one of the biggest conventions to date. The San Diego Comic-Con!! It has been three years since it was packed with amazing panels, cosplays, showcases, and more! Last week, the convention roared back as it makes its triumphant return of comic book fans, and moviegoers alike! Throughout the episode, I get to chance to talk about the Marvel & DC announcements that aspired through the iconic Hall H and what it means for the continuity moving forward between the two juggernauts. Can't believe that it's been that long since I launched this podcast during quarantine in my basement with the encouragement from my family/friends. What better to celebrate this milestone as I sat down with a very special guest! Kerry Lofton is well known by so many. As a videographer, cinematographer, and photographer he's always destined to be great within his field of sports and media combined. An Emmy award-winner for his videography work with the Dallas Cowboys during his two seasons. In addition, he's NOW an author of a brand new book, "Money Talks: How to Confidently Price Your Work." This book provides so much context for content creators and filmmakers alike on how to invest your work and business in terms of stating your prices. Since launch, it could be on its way to become a best-seller! Kerry and I discussed about his upbringings and life lessons he faced head on as videographer. With his fiery passion of creating, producing meaningful content within his reach, he deserves to be at the seat of the table. I had the upmost honor and pleasure of having him on the show. First Takes' Always a Charm (with Rich Kvietkus)
On the edition of Keeping Things Reel, I FINALLY brought on my first guest of the year, Mr. Rich Kvietkus! He is an longtime, veteran studio director of the longtime show 'SportsCenter' on ESPN. Throughout this episode, Rich and I discussed his love not only in sports media, but his passion in directing television production. He went through trials and tribulations as he first started from a technical director at NBC30 (Now NBC Connecticut) through living his dreams working in one of the biggest sports network at the heart of Bristol, CT. Rich is someone who is truly crafted in his work as a director and has worked with sports' brightest anchors including signature names like Stuart Scott, Chris Berman, Max Kellerman and more! Might I mention, he is an 4-Time Emmy winner through his 29-year career with the network! I was fortunate to connect with Rich again, mentoring and encouraging me as I'm currently paving the way through the entertainment industry.
