This episode we’re in the Cross Foxes pub just outside Overton-on-Dee for a chat with Ceri Morgan - who grew up in these parts, learned Welsh as an adult, and then set up one of only a few Welsh conversation groups over the border in England.

S’mai, a chroeso ‘nôl i Bodlediad ‘Doctoriaid Cymraeg.’ We’re in the wonderful Tŷ Pawb in the city of Wrecsam to pick up where we left off last year. Once again, Sara and Stephen discuss everything Cymraeg… and bits and bobs of other random stuff that take our fancy.

This episode has brought us to Saltney Ferry - and to a group of learners and speakers keeping Cymraeg alive and kicking right on the border with England.

Today, we’re talking to Lars about his TAITH IAITH and how learning Welsh has changed his life, we’ll hear about the name ‘Saltney’ and whether or not there’s a Welsh version of it, there’s plenty of chatter about the intricacies of Welsh grammar, and Sara shares some of her recent work writing poetry about Afon Dyfrdwy (the River Dee).

In this, our very first episode recorded alongside Clwb Clebran - the Welsh learners’ group meeting weekly in Wrecsam’s Saith Seren, we discuss all manner of things relating to the Welsh language, as well as interviews with Rhys Parry (who’s been challenging himself to start EVERY conversation in Welsh in aid of Prostate Cancer) and Debbie Murray (who’s been a regular at Clwb Clebran for many years).

We learnt so much doing this podcast - including how we could do with better microphones! - and we’re really looking forward to the next one.
