From tackling the apparent Holy Trinity of the Christian Right in America--abortion, Planned Parenthood, and gay marriage to breaking down our two major parties, I aim to offer a multi-disciplinary examination of American political issues. This is a public showcase of every single podcast I have ever made for a class. Some show my inexperience... Ok, they all do. BUT, they all show serious dedication to research and are a product of well over 30 takes per podcast. I hope to look back at these and laugh as much as I learn from them, and I hope you can do the same.

The Polarity Of Poverty In America

The Polarity Of Poverty In America

In 2016, the United States’ poorest congressional district, NY 15, was also the most Democratic, meaning that its residents voted for Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton at a higher margin than any other district in the country. Given the highly racialized context of politics in the United States, these two facts do not seem to be a coincidence. Is this evidence of a connection between intense poverty and widespread Democratic support? What is the tell-tell sign for a highly Republican district? The answers may or may not surprise you, but I guarantee at least a few of the facts in this podcast will have you scratching your head and picking up a book!

This Great American Fallacy Episode 2

This Great American Fallacy Episode 2

Is Trump the “best president for Israel in the history of the world?” Do Jewish people “love him like he is the king of Israel,” and could he be the second coming of God? Some tall claims made by one Trump supporter. In this episode I hope to understand and explain why in 2016 82% of evangelicals voted for trump and in 2020 polls show that number is 81%.

Education and Evangelism: The Origins of The Christian Right

Education and Evangelism: The Origins of The Christian Right

Abortion, Planned Parenthood, and Gay Marriage, the apparent holy trinity of the Christian Right in America. In this podcast, I posit that the cross Evangelicals have historically been willing to die on has very little to do with these three issues. Social and political changes in curriculum and the financial structure of religious educational institutions were extremely formative in the creation of today's Christian right. I explore the historical examples of this impact on and from education and how evangelical politics came to be what we recognize it as today.
