My guest today is Seana Day. Seana is an investor specializing in food systems through her work with Better Food Ventures and Mixing Bowl. Having grown up in and returned to the Central Valley of California, otherwise known as the cornucopia of the United States, Seana brings a unique first-hand perspective to her work. She recently admitted to having been wrong about the need for incremental change in the food production system; she now sees the opportunity, if not the necessity, for wholesale rapid adaptation and evolution of the system in service to all stakeholders. Her most recent contribution to the field is a well-structured map of the agricultural value chain’s ‘messy middle.’ Listen in to our conversation to learn more about what exactly that means!

Imogen Rose-Smith is a journalist, consultant, investment advisor, podcast co-host and co-founder of Combinate Capital. For more than a decade, Imogen was a lead journalist at Institutional Investor magazine. She also served as an Investment Fellow for the University of California Regents, one of the largest endowments in the country. More recently, she has been working with the Maui County Council and others on efforts to make the Hawaiian island a center for impact and sustainable investment. I was thrilled to have Imogen as my second guest on the ReDesign Podcast.

Robyn O’Brien is an author, activist, finance professional, venture capitalist and soon to be adjunct professor. She’s also a mom of four who was inspired just over a decade ago to transform our food system after her youngest child experienced a frightening health crisis. Through her perspective and her work, Robyn represents the possibility of a regenerative future. I was honored to have her as the first guest on my ReDesign podcast.
