04 - How culture can transform our relationship with food

In this episode of Tasty Deep Dives we interview Melissa Korn, founder of  “Ik eet cultuur” (I eat culture).  Melissa is in search of the meaning of culture and identity through the lens of food. This is both a personal and professional quest. By programming such events as the Low Food Symposium - Spiced Identities at the Rijksmuseum, the public program Eetrituelen (Eating Rituals) at Felix Meritis or the Flevo Campus Summer School in collaboration with Food Hub, in which participants searched for the tastes and flavors of the province of Flevoland, she challenges participants to think about their connection to food. She is also a former participant and active member of the program Tracing Your Roots in which people of Indonesian and Moluccan descent research their family history.
