In this teaching, Brother Seye Maj walks us through the gift and work of repentance in the Christian faith.
He begins by highlighting the Christian’s former state in utter darkness and depravity
On that note, the ability to see our sins, mourn and sorrow of them and turn our hearts to God is a gift. It is the gift of repentance
Since the gift of repentance has then inclined our hearts positively towards God (Ezek 36:26-27) and I now have A heart of flesh that wants to obey God, I must follow the inclinations of the Spirit and obey God in practice.
Therefore the knowledge of repentance must produce
1. doxology 2. Assurance and 3. Instruction
Of particular importance is the instruction as we see the necessity of an ongoing life of repentance in the Christian. The gift of repentance must be accompanied by works of repentance
