Simon seems to wonder why Jesus would allow such a sinful lady to wash His feet



How many times have we approached the Lord like Simon and not like the lady?

“He that is forgiven much loves much”



Brother Sam calls us to a heart posture that remembers how much we were forgiven so that it informs the depth of our love towards our Lord and Saviour



Like the parable of the servant who was forgiven 10,000 talents, we all owe God for our sins for our sins are manifold but God forgave us much



Brother Sam calls us to love God for true love for God is the antidote to hating our sins and leaving them behind



Fear cannot stop us from committing sins and grieving our Lord. But true Love informed by the magnitude of our sins forgiven helps us to deny ourselves and follow the Lord to the end.

Bro Kingsley teaches Matthew 6:19-33, on how we are to think and operate in the Kingdom of God as believers.



We look at what it means to store up treasures for ourselves and how avarice can easily influence our outlook and choices so subtly.



We also look at the deception of the kingdom takeover doctrine and how it is used to store up treasure for ourselves here on earth



We're ultimately taught not to trust in any other source but God.

On that note, the ability to see our sins, mourn and sorrow of them and turn our hearts to God is a gift. It is the gift of repentance



Since the gift of repentance has then inclined our hearts positively towards God (Ezek 36:26-27) and I now have A heart of flesh that wants to obey God, I must follow the inclinations of the Spirit and obey God in practice.



Therefore the knowledge of repentance must produce

1. doxology 2. Assurance and 3. Instruction



Of particular importance is the instruction as we see the necessity of an ongoing life of repentance in the Christian. The gift of repentance must be accompanied by works of repentance
