Hi guys. Hello and welcome. I'm Dr. Krista Ryan. I'm so excited that you're tuning in today. You are listening to the journey from nurse to health coach. And I want to talk about why I started this channel to begin with. Um, and the reason why I started it was because as a chiropractor and as a young doctor, I was going into a second career.

And because I was going into second career, I did not want to fool around. With, um, trying to figure out how to be a worker within a practice. I wanted to own my own practice, right from the get-go and going into chiropractic college. And because I wanted to own my own practice, I decided to listen and watch and read a whole bunch of books on business and how business performs and what the components of business are.

And I started that right early on in my career. And because I did that, um, when I was getting close to the very end of my schooling, I was looking for somebody to kind of help me transition into from student to full fledged chiropractor business owner. And I ended up finding a course that I took, right. Um, back when I was ready to graduate, that was a couple of days long.

And it was with a guy who went through. The mechanics of what needed to happen within a healthcare setting and within a chiropractic office in particular for patient intake and outflow as well, sales marketing, and all the little things like hiring that came in between. And because of that, I decided.

Right from the get, go to look for practices. I didn't want to just be an employee. I actually want to go in and be a business owner right away. And so this chiropractor, um, gave me the confidence. This course gave me an excitement for chiropractic. And I ended up getting a hold of the instructor later on.

And he was the first coach that I ever hired. And it was the best thing it could have done within my life. And I want. That for you. I want you to feel the confidence. I felt, even though I didn't have the experience. And so I depended heavily on my coach's experience when I was entering into a new profession as a young chiropractor, and that's the best decision I could have ever made.

And that is what I want for each and every one of you now I chose nurses, um, and I chose nurses to help, to transition into health coaches for a very specific reason. And I want to explain that right now. Um, nursing gives you a basic building blocks of the body. Um, and I want to just dive into what this means.

So if you're a mechanic, for example, You have a very basic foundation of how the engine functions and operates and you able to look at engines in different ways. And you're able to look at a variety of different cars and figure how they go together, because you have that basic understanding. Um, and then.

Is what I want you to grow on you as a nurse have a basic, you have basic understanding of how the body functions and because of that, just like a mechanic, you're able to see the areas within somebody's life that have a void or need help or need assistance. And I've developed over the years, a way of looking at the body.

And treating a patient without traditional diet exercise advice. And this is what this podcast is about. It's about taking a nurse and transitioning them into a health coach by giving them the tools and the ability that they might not have and standing beside them and walking them through the process so that they can be financially healthier tomorrow than they ever are today.

And they don't have to depend on a traditional. Job in order to support their family. And on top of that, that independence gives you the ability to set your own prices. And it gives you the ability to decide what you want and how you want to run your business. You might be a specialist, or you might want to be a general practitioner, just like a medical professional.

Now, when it comes to coaching. Um, nurses often feel like they have to be under a doctor. They need to be, they need to be coached through a pro

    Nurse To Health Coach

Hello, health coaching family member. I'm Dr. Krista Ryan, and you're listening to the journey from nurse to health coach. And we're so excited that you guys are tuning in. We were talking about in the last episode a little bit about why I started this process of helping nurses become health coaches. And I have a passion for business.

And because I went from being a helicopter pilot to being a chiropractor. I knew right from the get go that I didn't want to fool around with just learning how to do a job. I wanted to jump right into being a business owner right away, because I wanted the flexibility. I wanted the time with my family.

I want to be able to create my own schedule and not have somebody dictate that schedule to me. And, and I want that for each and every person that tunes into this podcast or channel I'm so excited that you guys have. Passionate as I about this topic. And I want to encourage you each and every one of you to dive right into the material, because that's going to give you the confidence in the ability to move forward within your own profession, without anybody holding you back or without taking a ton of time to get there.

When I. First graduating from, um, chiropractic college. I ran across a guy, uh, who was a chiropractor for many, many years who became my health coach and who became my business coach. And what he did was he gave me the confidence to buy a practice that had a couple of chiropractors in it. And I took over their whole operation.

I would not have had that confidence to do that without him holding my hand and being there for them. Whole process. I was actually relying on his experience in business in order to move forward in order to get into the profession the way I really wanted to get into my profession. And I want to encourage you each and every one of you to do the same.

If you don't know where to go, we do a Facebook live on the journey from nurse to health coach. Um, we do it in a Facebook group called the journey to health coach. So please look us up there. And, um, we go live in that group, Thursdays at 12:00 PM, um, 11 to 12:00 PM Eastern standard time. So encourage each and every one of you, because we go through the blueprint or your business model for success at that time.

So guys get on there. It's free. Um, it's a service that we offer you. And it's a way to dive into this business and have the confidence that I had moving into my chiropractic career, um, with everything that I wanted right from the get-go. So I wanna encourage you guys to do the same. Now, why should you transition from being a nurse?

You might be feeling disappointed with your career. You might be feeling exhausted because you're working long hours and you don't get to choose when you're home for your family or not. Um, you might be feeling. You're frustrated. And the toll that your career is taking on your body is too much. I have been in the same situation and that's why I became a health coach in my own.

Right. Um, and that's why I got online and started this process to begin with is because I could not do my job in the capacity that I wanted to do it in. And I couldn't reach the people that I wanted to reach without getting online and doing all the things that it took to become. A health coach and I want to encourage each and every one of you to do the exact same thing.

And that is why you are here in this podcast today. So congratulations and pat yourself on the back for taking the first step to a new coaching career each and every one of you say congratulations to yourself. Sometimes that step forward and that movement in a better path. Is, uh, should be celebrated each and every time because it's the small steps and the small actions that you take that will give you a different outcome.

If everybody, if you had 10 people start a journey in one spot and they all went in different directions, even if it was only a two degree difference, they'd end up at a different destination. So the

    Journey To Health Coach

    Journey To Health Coach

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr. Krista Ryan and you're tuning into the journey from nurse to health coach. We are so excited that you are onboard with us today, and we're talking about a little bit of where we came from and why we're doing what we are doing. And I talked about how my original career was a helicopter pilot, and I.

Um, decided right when both me and my husband were doing the same job that I needed to do something different. And I became a chiropractor at that point, but because it was a second career for me, I dove right in to being a business owner, getting out of chiropractic college right away. I did locums for about a year.

Um, and then while I looked for a business. And while he looked for business, I ended up hiring a, a coach for the first time and that actually transformed my life and gave me the confidence to move forward that I didn't have otherwise. And so I want that for you guys actually want you to take your nursing career and transition into being a health coach with all the tools and skills that you have up to this moment, taking them and using them and building.

Letting that be the foundation that you can build on to get a better business for your body and yourself starting today. And why are we doing that? Most of the time we're doing that because for me as a chiropractor, with my in clinic, I'm using my body as a tool and my tool gets tired. Very often, and I actually have to transition into another career myself, and we're doing this journey together and I'm coaching you on business because I've developed the skills to create really successful businesses over the years, including in my own practice.

And I've done that for other people that have come on board with me as well. And so I want you guys to come alongside and join us on this journey from nurse to health coach and. Uh, we talked about how mechanics have a good understanding of how the engine functions and because they have a basic understanding, they're able to make tweaks to an engine in order to increase efficiency.

And as a nurse, you have building blocks within the body that you understand on a basic level that you can use to actually help your clients achieve. Within their own body. Um, and you don't have to do it with Tricia traditional diet and exercise advice. Part of this podcast, we're going to be diving into some of the things that I can teach you as a doctor of chiropractic, that'll help amplify and help you understand your clients without needing to see them in person and without having a doctor, um, coach you through the whole process.

So, um, we're going to talk about today. Why nurses? Produce better coaches and that's so, so important to understand so that you can move forward within your own health coaching career with the confidence that you have all the necessary tools, just like a. A mechanic can tweak an engine. You are able to tweak your patients in a way that gives them the desired results that they want.

Now, sometimes we have to actually understand our patients. Uh, we have to understand what their condition is and a lot of people, when they get into coaching, they don't necessarily understand what a diagnosis is. And when your patient is diagnosed with something, when you have a good understanding of what.

Happens within that diagnosis, such as you understand that the pancreas isn't working with diabetic patients, you were able to say, how could I look at that body as a whole? And how can I take that, um, diagnosis that, that, that certain patient has in order to help them achieve their health outcomes for themselves?

Because I want for you in each and every one. One of P each and everybody that comes into contact with my material. I want each and every one of you to be healthier tomorrow than you ever are today. And I want you to feel like this is an area where you can be a family in your healthcare journey with other people that are like-minded.

So we are so excited to create programs for you. Um,

Why A Nurse Will Be A Great Health Coach

Why A Nurse Will Be A Great Health Coach

Hello and welcome healthcare family member. We are so excited that you guys are tuning into this episode. I'm Dr. Krista Ryan, and you are listening to the journey from nurse to health coach. We are so excited to have you on board. We're going to be talking about what it means to be a coach today and.

Coaching. So I have come alongside you today as a nurse to help you transform into a health coach. And why I did that was that you have an inherit skill that you've already developed in your nursing career. Easily transformable into being a health coach. And you have that because you understand the basics, basic body principles that help your clients or patients become the person that they want to become through your coaching.

Now, coaching, what is a coach and what is, what is it you're going to be required to do on a daily basis? A coach. Changes a person through small baby steps and change happens by allowing the coach to give you the accountability. Might need or the coach can give you the confidence you might need in order to create the change in your life to move forward within your healthcare journey.

And most of us don't have that when I started into practice very early, um, there was a, um, supplement company that. Uh, help people do diet and exercise through basically accountability programs that they created. And that is phenomenal. There's nothing like accountability. And really when I became a chiropractor and I had the other chiropractor that was kind of in my pocket and I could call up and say, Hey, I'm panicking today.

What do I do? I've never experienced this problem before and how do I solve it? The chiropractor was able to say, Hey, Krista, calmed down. Um, this is what you do in, this is how you respond to this. Um, Challenge that has come before you. And that is where, that is what you each and every one of you need. You need some accountability.

Uh, you need to learn how coaches can change you for the better. And if you haven't had that experience yourself, I'm gonna strongly suggest you go hire a coach to help you through this process. If you don't have that option, please contact us on our Facebook group in our community, the journey from nurse to health coach, where we go live Thursdays at 11 to 12 Eastern standard time.

And you can connect there with a community that's in the same process as you and are on the same journey. And you will be able to get the help that you might need, or you will be able to get the question answered that you might have. Um, because there's a community that can create support for you as you are on this journey.

So I'm so excited to have the opportunity to have this community available for you. And I am so excited that, um, I have have the tools and the building blocks to share with you. Um, and guys we're on this journey together, so, uh, don't. Don't feel like you are isolated and on your own and things are so overwhelming because you don't know even where to begin.

Most people begin by. By creating a brand for themselves and they create an icon and the icon, it inspires them to move forward, but that is not the beginning. The beginning has to happen with you, understanding that you have the capability of being a coach and coaching creates consistent change for both you and the client.

And that consistent change can create habits that form over time. Every single person better tomorrow than they ever are today. And when we're in that process of becoming that butterfly, um, it is an amazing event to watch. It's an amazing opportunity for both you and the client that you come into contact with.

And it's such a rewarding job. On your own terms, you don't have to worry that your kids aren't getting the contact that they might need from you because you're stuck in a nine to five job, or you're stuck doing rotations at a hospital, or you're stuck, um, having to do 15 hours. This gives you an opportunity to choose your own schedule.

It gives you the opportunity to cha

Turn Your Nursing Career Into A Health Coaching Career

Turn Your Nursing Career Into A Health Coaching Career

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr. Krista Ryan, and you're listening to the journey from nurse to health coach. We are so excited that you're here with us today. And if you don't know already, we have a Facebook group that goes live on Thursdays from 11 to 12 Eastern standard time. This is an opportunity for you to actually reach like-minded individuals with any questions or concerns that you might be struggling.

So we are here for you in every capacity, as well as teaching you from teaching you the process of turning your nursing career into a health coaching career. Now, why are we doing that? We're doing that to change your future outcome. So you're creating stability. You're creating a life that you want to live.

Um, you are creating an environment where family is important, where you are able to work your schedule, as you said, Fit. All of those things are so important for each and every one of us. And this means that you don't answer to other people, you answer to yourself and you keep yourself org. You keep accountable to a coach.

So coaches need coaches guys. So I learned that very early on in my career with my own, uh, profession. Um, I needed a coach to give me the confidence and the accountability to move. In from being a student, into being a chiropractor that bought her own business. I did not want to make this mistakes that most people make.

And I wanted somebody to come alongside me that had the experience that I could draw on that would give me the confidence to move forward in my own business and would allow me to like run ideas past them and, um, show me the path to the greatest success within my own. Business. And I want that for each and every one of you.

So please turn in tune into both our YouTube channel, as well as our podcasts and our Facebook group at the journey from nurse to health coach. Now we are the reason why I'm teaching the way I am is I really want you guys to have. Bites that you can take and use on a daily basis. Um, and I don't want this to be super time consuming for you.

I want you guys to understand the fundamentals and I want to repeat the fundamentals over and over again, so that you have a really good foundation for your, for your own career. And, um, I actually started this journey with my own coach called Russell Brunson. He does a marketing. Um, he, he does marketing coaching and helps people, um, build their online presence.

And so I actually, he taught me that it was really, really, really important to revisit the basics and. If you know anything about coaching, some of the top athletic performers, their coaches will at the very beginning of a football season, for example, go over. What a ball is and how you handle the ball.

Because as you get better at the basics, you actually can build on the basics and you have control over small things that will have a huge impact to the end game. So you might not be playing football, but we want our end game is to be in healthier tomorrow than you ever are in this moment. Today. And I want that for both you as well as your coaching clients.

So guys, this is exciting stuff. Feel free to go over this material over and over again, the more it becomes unconscious for you, then you're able to be conscious about steering your own ship. It's just like when you first started to drive you, there's a lot of things that happen within the vehicle that you had to concentrate on.

So overwhelming, but now when you're driving down the road, everything is automatic and you can actually look at signs and talk to people next to you. I want that to be your coaching career. I want you to guys to have everything on automatic pilot and build that into your nervous system. So things become a second nature to you.

So success is like assured at that point. Because it's easy guys, things that are super easy. We often don't have to think about. And because we're not thinking about the easy things, we're able to actually move into things that might be more diffi

Coaching Why That Matters Most To Nurses

Coaching Why That Matters Most To Nurses

Low end welcome nursing and coaching community. I'm so excited that you guys are tuning into this episode. Today. We are on the journey from nurse to health coach, and I am Dr. Krista Ryan and I am your host as well as your fellow. Journeyer so thank you for tuning into this episode. We are going to be talking about.

Coaching why that matters, where to begin with coaching and what we want to see you. What I would like to see for you is that coaching becomes automatic, just like you're driving down the road. And when you have driven for a really long time, everything's automatic, you're turning, you're moving around.

You're able to talk to your friend. You're able to actually think about other things other than driving. And guys, I want your practice to become automatic, just like that. When. Things are automatic. You're able to do things so that you can look externally outside of the business and actually, um, increase your business in small ways in order to achieve a lasting impact for you and your client.

And you can only do that. If these skills become automatic and they can become automatic without repetition. And we did talk about that in our last episode. So make sure that this podcast. You repeat it over and over again because, um, knowing this stuff internally makes you that automatic driver and you are the driver of your own career success when it comes to health coaching.

So we are so excited though, because we have the opportunity to come alongside of you. If you need some help, or if you have any questions or need support, we are live within our Facebook community on Thursdays at 11 to 12 Eastern standard time. And you can come with your questions and come knowing that there is a community out there that can support you in your health coaching career.

Guys, I wanted to talk to nurses. About health coaching, because you have a body basics foundation, you understand the body basics. And so because you have that inherent understanding, you're able to actually help people in a way that other people don't have as a coach. Um, just like if you got into coaching, gymnastics, whatever you've done in your past, you're able to actually help them through like nutrition or exercise.

So as a kinesiologist, I'm able to actually. Uh, kinesiology is the study of movement in the human body. I'm able to actually make small changes in the way that they move and know that that's making your muscles more efficient. And as a nurse, you're able to make your clients. Um, more efficient through their healthcare habits.

Now, a coach, what does a coach do? Exactly? A coach comes along beside a person, gives them the confidence and the accountability to stick to their goal or do their desired outcome. Guys. A coach is that map. So, um, people are on a journey to being healthier tour than they ever are today. And they have to take steps towards their destination.

And you are, you are the. That shows them how to go from a, to B. Now, when people aren't taking consistent, um, consistent steps forward and creating change in their lives, then they can never reach the destination that they might desire. So as a coach, you come buy and hold. Them accountable to the outcome that they might achieve that does not mean you have to beat them over the head.

In fact, you don't have to do a ton of things with them. You don't have to give them 15 million things in order for them to achieve success. You have to show them this tiny baby steps that needs to happen to create change in their life. And that's not necessarily with diet and exercise all the time. Um, if you listen to our later episodes, we get into.

What are the foundation principles within a body that, that moving one thing helps move the body as a whole. And just like, just like, if I shift the steering in my car, my whole car goes in the one direction. You don't have to have all these things that are actually going to, um, you don't have to know a ton about diet.

    You don't have to k
