E37: The Canon of the Bible and Us
Takeaways
The 66 books of the Bible are the inspired word of God and hold inherent authority.
The truth fears no investigation, and anything that belittles or adds to the truth can be identified as not belonging to the canon.
The early church fathers played a role in recognizing the canon of the New Testament.
Usage and the inherent authority of the apostles' writings are important factors in determining the canonicity of the Bible.

E36:Modesty: A Matter of the Heart
Summary
In this episode, Benjamin Lee and Miles Hester discuss the topic of modesty. They emphasize that the Bible should be the standard when it comes to modesty and that it is a matter of the heart. They highlight three reminders: everyone needs to hear about modesty, lust is always wrong, and we need to help each other out. They also discuss the cultural context of modesty and the importance of recognizing the shamelessness of society. The episode concludes with three questions to consider when it comes to dress and modesty.
Takeaways
Modesty is a matter of the heart and the Bible should be the standard.
Everyone needs to hear about modesty, regardless of age or gender.
Lust is always wrong, and we should not use others' actions as an excuse for immodesty.
Modesty requires a group effort, with older generations helping younger ones.
We live in a shameless society, but the Bible teaches the importance of modesty and shame.
When considering modesty, ask yourself if your clothes hide or reveal too much, if you would be embarrassed to see brethren in certain clothes, and how much of your body you are comfortable showing.
