JaxBar Podcast Episode 33- Kayla Haines Herrin

JaxBar Podcast Episode 33- Kayla Haines Herrin

Kayla is a go-to transactional lawyer for companies undergoing change.  She focuses her practice on general corporate matters, including merger  and acquisition deals, entity structuring, joint ventures, financing  transactions and other business and governance matters.   Clients value Kayla’s business acumen in addition to her legal  experience. She regularly works with GCs as outside counsel and often  serves as the de facto internal legal team for smaller companies.  Although many corporate lawyers have a finance background, they may not  understand all the practical decisions that occur in the C-suite. That’s  where Kayla stands apart: She earned her MBA, has worked closely with  executives on corporate strategy and brings a holistic perspective that  considers how legal decisions ultimately impact business operations.  Kayla also advises healthcare clients on complex and frequently changing  healthcare laws, and assists corporate and healthcare clients with  acquisitions and other business transactions. Her responsibilities  include reviewing agreements, preparing closing documents, coordinating  disclosure schedules and other due diligence activities.  Kayla serves on the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association’s Board of  Directors as President for the 2022-2023 year. She also serves on the  Board for the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section. She  has been named a “Leader in Law” by the Florida Association for Women  Lawyers, “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers in America, “Rising Star” by  Florida Super Lawyers and an “Up and Comer” by Florida Trend. In her  free time, Kayla enjoys cheering on her hometown Tampa Bay sports teams  with her husband, Matt, and their rescue dog, Palmer.
